To pay tribute to Aamir Zaki, Kashmir covered the popular track “Mera Pyaar” because it holds a special sentimental value to them.
They truly stole the show and blew the judges away with their wholehearted performance.

Song was originally sang by a broken man who battled depression, loneliness and uncertainty through out his career. After disappearing from the music scene for many years, he made a come back via Coke Studio. That performance, perhaps, was the best he ever put out there. He died soon after that performance. Its as if, he had stayed alive just long enough to make that come back. RIP Aamir Zaki.

@@r000ketman5 I think he was too talented for his time and was also really difficult to work with. He had personal issues which caused him to be isolated even from close friends. One of those friends wrote an article and explained how he kept disappearing for years without any contact then randomly appeared requesting to meet up again etc. Really sad but when someone keeps pushing you away, eventually people do just leave you alone.

The song talks about past too....about how the past can't come back and how the memories still haunts him and makes him cry. He is asking the girl that if she ever listens to this song, he hopes she can feel his pain. So it's good that the song makes you think of past memories. It's supposed to do that. Just goes on to show that music transcends all barriers... it has no culture no language ❤

I can't seem to get over how brilliantly this was sung by Kashmir's front man. Hair-raising sound, really gets under my skin every time. The guitar riffs were perfect. I am so proud of all the promising musicians Pepsi Battle of the Bands has discovered. I just hope they don't lose their identity and stay true to their sound. I can only imagine how successful each one of them will be one day as they mature especially with the right direction and platform. Let's keep encouraging our young ones.

This song has been covered with different renditions by many singers. But this performance by Kashmir is just something else. The vocalist shows you so much talent and range that it starts getting freaky after a while. Great guitar as well. I think it is one of those performances that probably Pepsi is also smiling at as it makes their entire talent showcasing effort worth it. I also think that this softer rendition of the performance fits very well as a tribute to Amir Zaki who recently passed away.

Really liked the full version. Pepsi, you should only upload the full version so that the audience can better judge each performance. The falsettos sung in this version were missing in the other video. When Atif Aslam, in the shorter version, was praising Kashmir for their falsettos, we didn't have any clue. Secondly, uploading each song in two versions will also divide the number of views

Good observation. First Pepsi was putting incomplete titles for its KZbin videos. You can still see their old videos where the title is not the name of song/video instead it seems like an announcement from the Facebook. The Pepsi Battle of the Bands theme song is tilted as "Pepsi presents the much awaited launch song for Pepsi Battle of the Bands 2017!" where as the title should contain the name of song and singers etc.

You are absolutely spot on about them uploading the song twice. The views are going to be divided between 2 different uploads of the same videos. They should only upload the full version at first.
