Twas a bit more nuanced in my memory.... we were increasingly having taliban bombings until it became impossible for these bands to earn a living in live gigs and because of widespread internet with a lack of royalty laws in our land they could not earn from new records either. Atif was managed well and he remains an exception but then he wasn't a band. He stayed by singing playback. Nearly every band tried playback in india because it makes good money. Until coke studio and drama OSTs came around there was not much to make a living with. Us Pakistanis have always had a better ear than neighbours for music- we don't go wah wah on average stuff which makes surviving even harder. Plus we are a smaller market and became even smaller for art after 2008. Aaroh was dealt a bad hand by Pepsi after winning botb in 2002... and EP brought out an album way before these poor kids could.

I think im gonna die from the feels. Aaroh, EP, Call, Meesha, Ali Azmat all with killer performances. And this is my fav song. Oh im so jealous of the audience I am legit on the brink of tears. Even though I feel the music is not supporting the singer and goin on a different direction distracting from his soothing voice I am still happy tht atleast I got to see Aaroh one more time!
