Thanks for the nice and detailed review! I've heard that this kind of mocap suit is affected by magnets or steel furniture. I was wondering if there would be any problems when used in a home environment with steel pipes, refrigerators, steel shelves, etc.

it can be affected by magnetism, but this product does have some unique callabration tools to help with just that. I would definitely reach out to Noitom and talk to them directly. There is also another product line called Perception Neuron Studio that cost a bit more, but has magnetic immunity. In my experience, I did not have these issues with magnetic interference, and I have a steel beam that supports my upstairs office. cheers!

@@GlassHandFilms Thanks for the detailed explanation! That's very surprising that there is so little magnetic interference. What about drift over time, I wonder if you have to recalibrate every few minutes?

PN3 blows Rokoko out of the water for me. It's so accurate and the Axis software is great!

Hey there Matt! Yeah it's super stable in my recording environment. For metahumans, it's super easy to use live link and create bone lists for the skeleton. Have you use the PN3 before? The studio is a bit more money but comes with more pro features. I've been loving it so far.

how did you do magnetic calibration because mine keeps failing

I just picked up one of these this month and I'm having a couple issues getting it started. After calibration sometimes my arms are correct but my legs walk backward and such. I thought it was because of my cramped little apartment, but yours looks a little cramped, too. I'm thinking based on other vids I watched it has something to do with the location of my laptops being so close to the testing.

Hey there! Any way you could record your screen and send me a link? I would love to try and solve this with you. In my space, I do the magnetic calibration then the steady calibration. Then I put the sensors in the straps and do an initial pose calibration (sitting down) and everything pretty much works out of the gates. I'll be posting a more in depth video that might help you later. Cheers!

@@GlassHandFilms It will have to wait until next week. I was able to get the legs and arms both going forward this morning, but when I cross my arms the avatar opens the arms wide, and the reverse. I do find it a challenge to have all the sensors pass the magnetic calibration at once in any given location in the room.

Got it working. 4 Tips.1.Never try to charge the sensors with your computer's usb port. Charge them with an outlet. If it receives an incorrect charge with a PC, the sensors will initially blink bright red after an overnight charge, and then won't turn on. And worse, when you place them the charger, instead of a stable bright red led, you will get a dim red light instead. I lost functionality with 6 sensors, but after letting them sit for a week I was able to turn them on with the charger, then turn them off manually, and correctly recharge them. 2.If the forearm bands are too tight, swap them with the foot bands. 3.This may sound really dumb, but with anything new and no input we are kind of dumb with everything we do, but when the label says right hand or arm or leg, that is the right body part of the wearer, not the 2nd person perspective of like some one helping running the computer and such. 4.If magnetic calibration doesn't process, try operating the suit and use the magnetic trajectory function (under Capturing tab, last icon to the right). Walk around your area - it will give an idea on any interference you're dealing with.

This is demoing the Body Kit ($3,999.00 USD) and the gloves add on ($999.00 + $60.00 for the gloves). Definitely worth sending an email to support to get an actual quote from them if you are interested in purchasing :)

Transceiver is only for PN Studio. PN3 uses a USB dongle which is a bit worrying and the length you can move away from it is rather small.

Are the animations good enough to use without clean up?

Once you process the animations through Axis Studio, definitely! It will get rid of most jitter or weird feet sliding issues. I've had great success with this system
