I fished that river a lot growing up. We used to fish at the marina, there was a boardwalk on that side and people used to line up and fish there.

That last bed you were fishing at the end of the dock is my grandparents backyard been pulling perch and crappie from there for 20+ years … the white house with the deck. Great video !

LT, did you mean you were using an octopus hook? I never heard of perch fishing with a circle hook, I saw you hard setting the hook a few times where a circle hook only requires reeling and tension, no hook setting.

I set the hook even with the circle hooks. It just makes sure its more solid lol. I love circle hooks and octopus hooks. I use octopus hooks on all my ice fishing perch tip up rigs

@LTOutdoors15 ok, you just taught me a thing. I always thought setting the hook on a circle hook would surely miss fire. That setting wouldn't allow that bent point to slide into the jaws. I also was under the impression that circle hooks were mainly for catfish, sturgeon, and bottom feeder fish that love dough bait and crustations.

@@awakenedtotruth8419 nope they started off as a catfish thing but my catch rate for perch has gone up a ton since I started switching to that style. The circle hook is made to stop swallowed hooks, it usually slides it's way to the corner of the mouth even with just the tension of reeling the fish in. But I always give it a set to make sure, all itll do is put the hook deeper in the corner of the mouth

@LTOutdoors15 I love the hook point on circles. I tied them as drop shots and assembled plenty of worm spinner rigs with circles. My favorite are the fluorescent and glow then blood red.

@@awakenedtotruth8419 I couldn't agree more!!! Those are excellent!! I like them on my tip up rigs because I give a slight pull for a hook set and always feel safe that it's a solid hook set

I went out fishing at 6AM, fished 2 country. I just susker fishing, I got asked for my license, 4 time's to day. I saw people that didn't have a new one yet, it's cheaper to get 1.
