If you are truly confident in your cause, you shouldn’t be threatened by people being intellectually curious. I may not agree with your views, but I will always encourage people to be intellectually curious, so they can have their own autonomy to make decisions that are fully formed. Anyone have and or see people have political awakenings at college?

You may want to re-read Huck Finn. I read it in middle-school. It provoked long, thoughtful discussion and was my 1st introduction to literature about race, poverty and the legacy of slavery. To me, it was the perfect jumping off point and we were all completely ready for it. By the time we were in HS we were onto far more sophisticated literary fare and better prepared to study civil rights.
