This has been such an amazing adventure with this series Mark!! It’s been an honour to draw up some of the panels for this series and even having Jane featured! It has been a wonderful journey with Percy and Springtrap and I’m so happy we can see them come to a close. I've been watching for years now and this is actually how i got into homestuck and I was around 10 when I stumbled on the blog and then around 12 or 13 stop cuz I got into undertale and hollowknight.😅 Then when i saw the moive was up I immediately! watched it and got hooked again. I'm glad they got a happy ending. even if afton is dead and turn into an AI. ( it what I think with the evidence of ruin and security breach and help wanted) but I like the idea of glitch trap being that guy that doesn’t leave the past alone, kind of like Cassidy. But I like how they get to move on after glitchy dies it's great!!!! have a great day and i just realized i rambled TwT

Creator here. The reason I kept pushing that Percy didn't need to know is because I always knew that, even if it did happen in the story that Percy would learn, it would be just as he said: he wouldn't care. Especially because--even though it wasn't mentioned in the backstory, because it wasn't important to the central core of what I was trying to tell--Percy has some blood on his hands, as well. (Specifically, Springtrap taught him how to "play spook em" [aka kill] the night guards in their previous pizzeria home until it became abandoned.) Again, there's not much else to explore with that in what I wanted to tell, so it was very much shoved to the side in favor of the love story. If you go digging on their Tumblr blog, there is a post where, after Springtrap has begun to turn over a new leaf, he asks Percy if they can stop "playing spook em", as he doesn't think it's much fun anymore; and, without a second thought, Percy replies by saying "okay" and offers some different, _actual_ games. Basically, if he _had_ been told outright, by a character in the story, that Springtrap was a murderer, he would have just been like "Okay, but... I am too? It's not something I'm proud of in retrospect, and neither of us do it anymore, so...?" And I knew an answer like that wouldn't be as satisfying in the love story as Percy standing his ground and saying "I don't care about his past, I love him, I don't need to know what he did, like... 40 some odd years ago". So that's the route I took. Sorry if this disappoints, but this was never intended to be a story with murder being one of the central plot points, beyond the threat of Glitchtrap. I just wanted to write a gushy, silly love story, with a tiny bit of angst here and there, but the bottom line is Percy's response would _never_ have been angsty enough to be satisfying to the audience, so I did what I thought was best. I do appreciate your curiosity, but that's simply an avenue that I was never going to explore. 🙇‍♂️
