I hope I did this edit justice. I wanted to show that they're really just kids at the end of the day, hence using this song "wasting my young years." They aren't ever really allowed to be "just kids." They're unable to have a normal childhood because of who and what they are, so at the end when Percy tells Annabeth to just be a kid, it definitely tugged on the heartstrings.
I also wanted to emphasize their great friendship. How they can deeply trust and rely on one another, that they have each other's back no matter what, and that they inspire each other too. They lift each other up.
