I couldn't have gotten this far in the series without this guy honestly I've tried other audio books but this is by far the best the way he narrates gives it so much emotion and action but when I leaned to others they just read it like a robot, this guy seriously is so good like when I have to read I look forward to it!!

Despite me really enjoying these stories the thing that annoys me the most is how the characters like to keep things from each other. Percy literally gets visions with helpful information and waits 3-4 chapters before telling anyone. Sometimes they wait until a whole other book. Why!!!???

Honestly, this is an extremely common flaw, even in more classical novels. The drama and suspense is because characters dont know stuff about each other, or they are unable to understand or read each other. This is definitely not just a Riordan issue. Most romances in most books are built around the characters not knowing they both like each other, or not knowing on of them doesnt. A lot of suspense is built rather lazily by giving the reader information the characters dont have. It takes extreme writing prowess to ride characters who are emotionally addept and who can asses and comunicate theirs or others thoughts. A lot of books end up very much dora the explorer esque asking us where something is even though it is extremely obvious to us, and its a great shame.

If the Disney plus series goes up to this book (Which I hope is does), at the part where Annabeth releases Percy went into River Sticks, I think the argument there should have Percy telling her that he went with Nico because of that coward talk she gave him. Telling her he didn't go with Rachel because of the Prophecy. And telling Annabeth that he doesn't care he dies, and that he only cares stopping Luke and Kronos when he does. Though seeing the Shocked and upset look on Annabeth's face, Percy realizes he was talking like he was in season 1 after defeating Medusa. And that he didn't mean it like that. Though Annabeth realizes she spoke to Percy in the most unwise way. I'm not counting on it happening, but I think that should how the script should go if the Last Olympian comes into reality.

It’s actually a bit more complicated than that. In modern Greek yes, but in Ancient Greek it was more common to harden the TH into more of a direct T sound. Three separate pronunciations for her name have been used in the films, tv show, and official audiobooks, so having grown up with the films, we decided to use their pronunciation.
