Glad I finally found someone who decided to do a video on the subject! I'd love to see some stuff talking about the various coal replacements that some of the heritage railways have been trying, though if I remember correctly, one of the coal mines did reopen, so it'll be a little bit before it becomes critical. Still, it'd be fun to explore what the North Westerner's think of the yellow coal the Talyllyn trialed a while back. I think at least one of the standard gauge lines tried it out too. Thinking logically about the sorts of things that would happen IRL, Sodor would almost certainly end up with factories to produce coal substitutes locally, with how dependent the island is on the heritage industry.

Well that could close down. Watch Railfan#1 coal crisis arc and how his way to keep steam working is e-coal for the SK and culdee fell, imported coal from other countries for standard, and animal waste for the aresdale railway.

They probably are scared, worried, just millions of thoughts rushing through their minds. I mean, the fat controller to confirm something that sounded so ridiculous and unfair to be true, that would put a huge knot in my boiler (pun intended). Plus the fact Donald asked The Fat Controller how they’d continue to work and the fat controller being uncertain, after feeling safe and trusting that they’d go on for many years without worrying about being scrapped. I feel when they look at Percy feeling sad, they just couldn’t believe that what he said is the truth

Also just to add, I mean Gordon and the others see Percy as the “baby of the family” so they felt he was just smoke and mirrors with what he said; and when the reality hit they were probably just like at a loss for words that Percy was right, and to just process that The Fat Controller was unsure about a solution would make them panic. (James especially would be freaking the f out)
