Hey Craig so glad to see you reacted and enjoyed this tricky battle . I agree with your breakdown of every artist in this battle and it made me laugh your statement about the 2 dancers in Lilli performance. It was unnecessary but they got paid so I'm all for earning your money although their contribution was zero in terms of the context of the type of song being performed . But that aside I enjoyed this challenge and I await your next one for me.

In some respects this comparison was a bit tricky. I actually thought that you were spot on in your analysis of these performances. In addition to this, there were points where i had to do some critical thinking. However, i also came to the conclusion that Joshua Ledet came out on top. That being said, here is my breakdown of the performances. First up Lilly McLeod. I also thought that Lilly did a great rendition of this song. However i was missing the Wow factor. I wanted her to blow me away by taking the song to the next level. This song requires a lot of grit and power. You also need to have a husky tone to really carry the song and make it sound believable. I definitely agree that she can sing. However, as you rightly said, Lilly has a more sultry and high octave voice that is not suited for this type of song. In addition to this i just feel that Lilly needed to move from behind the mic stand and own and dominate the stage. She stood behind the microphone for the entire song. I also think that the two guys who were dancing beside her did not do anything for the performance. They were merely a bit of a distraction. Therefore, i also gave her a 9 out of 10. Contestant number 2: Joshua Ledet. I thought that Joshua’s performance of this song was absolutely breathtaking. In addition to making the song his own he sang this song as if his life depended on it. Yes, he was really really phenomenal. If someone was watching his rendition of this song for the first time they would think that Joshua wrote this song. He had everything required to pull off this song and more. From the first note he commanded and held my attention from start to finish. His performance of this song was filled with emotion grit, and power. As he sang I could feel it coming deep down from his soul. Therefore, i also gave Joshua an 11 out of 10. The third singer: Rolande Abante. Rolante delivered a fantastic rendition of this song. His performance definitely had the Wow factor and Roland was equipped with everything required to pull off this song and more. When he stared singing his voice was really commanding and well suited for this song. I also loved the fact that he gave us a few surprises when he did things a bit differently when singing the higher pitches of this song. In addition to this, while he sang in both the high and lower registers his voice did not waver or crack. His husky voice also added a lot of spice and flavor to the song and enhanced his performance and helped take the performance to another level. He was also very composed, relaxed and confident in his abilities. That being said, i gave Roland 10.98 out of 10. Now unto the fourth singer: Chris Blue. I actually thought that Chris delivered an excellent performance despite not having the right voice for this song. He actually dominated and owned the stage. He also made the song his own and sang with a great deal of feeling and emotion. I just think that Chris has a more smooth and pure type of voice which would be better suited for another song. His voice is more leaning towards Jazz and blues type of songs. His voice just does not have the gritty, husky texture needed to truly deliver the song the way it should be delivered. However, he was still able to somewhat pull off the song because he sang it in his own way and dug deep into his emotions as he owned and dominated the stage. That being said, I also gave Chris Blue 10.98 out of 10. That being said, here is how i ranked the performances: (1) Joshua Ledet. (2) Roland Abante, (3) Chris Blue and (4) Lilly McLeod. I hope you enjoyed my breakdown of the performances.❤❤😊
