Just a suggestion only, what about trying to oil & blow dry it, and plaiting it up afterwards? This was my mom's method for doing her fro when I was a kid growing up. Then when she would take it down it would be so bouncy, shiny just like a crown on her head. Then she would plait it up at night again. Your fro is beautiful also.✊🏾

Thanks! *hits ‘like’ button*
@FroJohnson4 жыл бұрын
Marquest Smith, That’s what’s up! Thank you for tuning in to this vid. It can be overwhelming only if you let it be. It can be simpler with effort. Main things you need is a good shampoo and conditioner. Oils of your choice (my favorites are olive oil & coconut oil), a good leave-in conditioner or styling creme (sometimes depending on how you wanna style your hair), maybe a grease or pomade that you like.. Even Shea butter is good to just work with that. In this vid, the pomade that I used is by far one of my favorite products. I’ve been using that since like 2017. I have it linked in the description box as well. (It’s an affiliate link.) I always say it takes time and patience with this stuff but you’ll definitely get there if you’re trying your best to get what’s the healthiest option for your hair. If you’re looking to grow out your hair, try protective styling and ensure that you’re using the proper products to maintain the hair and you’ll be good for the most part. Thank you again for tuning in and all the best to you on your hair journey!

The sides of my hair are so uneven. Seeing your hair makes me want to restart but that would be 3 years down the drain. Hairs amazing btw. It’s nice to see someone with actual 4c hair

Nice tutorial. How long did it take you to grow your hair to this level?
@FroJohnson3 жыл бұрын
Josh, Thank you! 🙌🏾 I’ve been growing my hair for about 10 years, but I do trims to keep down the length.
@sonofromel4 жыл бұрын
Let me ask 3 questions even tho I can't grow an afro. Just curious. 1. How much time til you need a new trim? 2. How do you avoid the drooping afro, for example you have a chest length hair how can you keep the top up while retaining the long hair look? If it's ever possible 3. Do you ever wish it's the 80's again with glam rock and all where big hair is a thing?
@FroJohnson4 жыл бұрын
Rom Alvarez, Sure! 1. I did a trim not too long ago. I don’t have a routine timing just yet, but I do want to do another trim sometime in the near future. 2. My hair naturally dries in and shrinks. On top of that, I form it so it can stand tall on my head. People with my type of hair does that. 3. I would say nah, cause times are changing and if I were around in the 80’s, I would have had to adapt to a lot of difficult things and times. But music wise, that would be cool to experience because that was a memorable time for music and other cool things, but as far as being in that time, I wouldn’t do it. Lol, those were some good questions! 👌🏾 Thank you for your curiosity, you made me think on this one! 🤣 Thanks for watchin this too!

Me too. I got a taper on mine while growing it out originally but did not like the look of it so now I'm letting it all grow naturally as a full fro..
