Ah, thank you for the shout-outs. I enjoyed meeting you both too. Have you seen the ornament at the Christmas shop in Talkeetna? They have a pale gray ornament that is airbrushed with blacks and grays with scenes and animals. It is made from glacial silt and is light as a feather. That pear and prosciutto flat bread is delicious.

I just love you both to pieces. You brought back some memories. My BFF and I took a Land/Sea Tour with Princess last year May and stayed at both Denali Lodges and it was awesome. We are part of the lucky 30% to see Denali for all three days in a row and I don't get sick of looking at the beautiful scenery. I'm planning on working for the Summer with HAP in Alaska after I retire from my current job (Dec 2025) and can definitely see myself returning year after year to work there. Hopefully one of these days we will meet. Alaska should be on everyone bucket list to visit. Stay safe and healthy. Love from Central Florida

I was so happy and excited to meet you guys at the lodge when you were checking in! You were both so nice. I love watching this video, especially since my family was there at the same time as you guys were. And to see Denali that next morning so clearly was such an amazing blessing! Glad you guys had such a nice time at the lodge - we certainly did!

It’s always interesting to note that this lodge is still over 100 miles away from the Denali National Park, but is in fact inside the Denali State Park. A lot don’t realize there are actually two different Denali parks in Alaska. The views you see of the mountain from this location are South face while in the National park is North face. Two totally different views. I’m rather partial to South face.

Thank you for the wonderful video it shows us the views we missed seeing 2 weeks ago. We stayed there on the 11 and 12th June and it was rainy and overcast with no view of Denali, the campfire s'mores area was also rained out. We were in the 70% not seeing Denali group until the train ride from Denali lodge to Whitter on the 15th June where we saw Denali from the train near Talkeetna - it was outstanding. I agree the ranger who did the wolf talk was very engaging. He also took the nature walk tour ( you have a lot of dangerous plants ). Fun fact at 42.42 in your video the tree you see with the bark missing nearly all the way to the base, the ranger said Porcupines camped in that tree for the winter and stripped the bark.

I’m having a little PTSD from that metal merry go round thingie. I was on one of those when I was 4-5 and got so dizzy that I fainted then hit my forehead on one of the metal welded sections of the “hand rails”. I’ve had a nice scar on my forehead for almost 45 years now. I also remember burning the heck out of my legs on the metal slides. That how they turned us into tough kids. lol, thanks for the flashbacks

That place was so beautiful and looked very relaxing. Maybe I missed it, but did you pick up an ornament from the gift shop? Like Sherri, I don’t like salmon either. I’ve tried it several times but never liked it! And, I’m born & raised in Hawaii but don’t like fish, poke or any sushi that has any seafood on it. I actually only eat a small variety of seafood but can’t tolerate most of the different types.

I loved this vlog! Denali at sunset never grows old. I have a Cookbook that I picked up YEARS ago called "Alaskan Backwoods Cooking" a collection of recipes by Trapper Creek Elementary! Was your parents lodge on the Petersville Road? I remember going to the roadhouse at the "end" several times. I am trying to picture where your parents' lodge was located.
