Definitely agree! Overclocking my 7600 to turn it into a pseudo-7600X and undervolting my GRE to have it perform at stock settings for less wattage (about 20W less) gave me the best results.

It isn’t about electricity bill when between a 7600 vs 7600x (who have almost the exact same performance in fps), it’s about what cooler you can slap on that thing, no cooler needed saving you 50+ dollars or so if you’re building a normal pc, and if itx, you NEED a low tdp for longevity.

Yep that's the main reason I went for the 7600 with the GRE, it's a massive drop in TDP. And undervolting takes the efficiency even further

Apparently the default tdp between the 7600 and 7600x are different too, so if building an itx build the 7600 would be the way to go being only 65w tdp. If I was buying one of these CPUs it almost certainly would be the 7600 unless the 7600x happened to be cheaper as I'm likely to add an aftermarket cooler.

A word of advice for people - I went with a lower power draw 7600 + AMD 6650 GPU because I needed it to go on an a620 mini-itx board, which throttles above 90W power draw. If you want the higher power draw CPU make sure you go with a board that is built for it. The 7600X paired with 7900 is gonna handle 1440p way better, but it'd need an a650 board if your doing a similar mini-itx built to mine, but then again whose gonna use a 7900 in a small pc anyway....

And auto overclock it using the amd control panel, or you can get the rtx 3060ti and overclock that, a stock rtx 3060ti is just 10% slower than the rtx 3070, but the rx 6650xt might be a better option here, it gets you slightly more fps but if rtx is your priority then nvidia it is.

@@AADY the thing is a used Rtx 3070 costs about 380 buck or less and rx 6650 xt costs 330 usd Just by adding like 50 usd(if I negotiate I can get that used 3070s price even lower) I get a much powerful card And amd cards r currently over priced in my country cuz ppls tended to buy amd cards more than nvidia ones cuz better fps per dollar And that’s why in the used market the nvidia side wins super easily as because ppls tends to price the amd cards higher cuz the sellers sells the amd cards in higher prices A rx 6900xt costs 880 usd here(brand new) But a used 3 yr old rx 6900xt still costs 700 usd here Ppls here didn’t caught on that the amd cards which gets praise everywhere isn’t rly cheap in my country like other countries So that’s why I was thinking of buying a nvidia used card cuz it will also help me in some softwares like blender I was thinking about buying a Rtx 3080 at like 430 usd for 1440p ultra settings at most titles cuz a used amd rx 6800 xt will cost 470 in average here

The answer is as always: depends. Specifically, on which games you usually play and how much eye-candy you need. I have the 7600X with a 3070 (which is pretty much the same performance) on 14440P but play mostly older and CPU-heavy games. Online survival, strategy games and an MMOFPS. Usually, I even run the GPU at lower settings so my PC doesn't sound like an electric screwdriver...

I do realize I'm an absolute edgecase but can you make a video about OpenGL performance, since the only game I care for graphical fidelity in is Minecraft ironicaly and I heard, that while AMD are getting better at it, Nvidia is still better at OpenGL in Windows, which is the only reason I went with an Nvidia Card last time, is that still the case or can I expect as good or better performance at OpenGL with an AMD card now, I really don't know how to find out about it since everything I find is 2 years old or older

I have a 5600x and a slightly overclocked 3060 12gb vram. It is dominating 1440 p and i average about 130-150 fps on warzone on Ultra settings. 200-250 fps on overwatch 2 and i played fortnite once just to test it and got 200-250 there aswell.

I also have the 5600x and a 7900 gre and its an insanely good gpu. I get 220 fps on extreme settings on rebirth island. I upgraded last week from a gtx 1070 that was only getting 70 fps on low settings. Might upgrade the cpu later on cause its bottlenecking in warzone.
