@@honeyhole The cattle boats did good they have the luxury of throwing so much live bait that the YT were swarming all around their boat. I didn't catch any YT, but I did manage to catch a 38" halibut. Honestly, I've only caught one in my life at the Carlsbad lagoon and it was way too small to keep. Good luck out there

@@alanmckenzie3228 I would take a 38” halibut any day!

Mike. I used to fish around those old battle ship pillars near the break water. Just drive by slow and cast between the pillars. Huge calico Bass hide under them. Sure miss fishing So. Cal! Born and raised there 70's-80's. Thanks for the videos!

Well worth the trip. I purchased a boat a few months ago and I’m still trying to figure all the required docs to fish the islands….

@@honeyhole I have. I was hoping to use them as a last resort given the additional fees. However, it seems like if I want to make sure my documents are in order I will have to use them. Hard to pay their annual fee + associated service fee + TIP fee for +/-120 versus just +/-$40. Seems like I might have to bite that bulletin though…

@@honeyhole Yes sir. That's what lead me to Baja. It's more of the steps to get the Temporary Importation Permit for the boat. Not straight forward or I just suck. :) Either way, I will get it done and hopefully see you out there.

I may have read this thread wrong so forgive me now. But is there also a fee you must pay in order to take your boat to the Coronado islands? In addition to the biosphere bracelet, MX fishing license, and the Day Visa?

Aside from a Mexican fishing license and your passport, what else do you need to fish coronados?
@honeyhole2 жыл бұрын
A few other things depending on how you fish them. You can check out BDoutdoors.com and they have a complete list.

Haha I see lots of dumb people at the launch dock.. specially jet ski people 🤣 and the jet ski renters also flying around like no one is in the water.. what sucks is that they don't require boat/jet ski renters to have a boaters card to show them they have knowledge about being safe In the waters and know the rules like no wake zones and slow down places ect... special mission bay lots of dumb people there in boats and jet skis, but I don't bother even going to mission bay
