Spanish mac are an excellent option for slow trolling, sea lions tend to not go after them as much, and they are pretty much everywhere along the kelp line.

I didn't know you guys had spanish macs on the west coast or, are they different from what we have on the east coast?

Ah just looked it up and yes it is different. That looks similar to what we call a goggle eye out here.

hey Mike. been watching your videos. and figure you may be the guy to ask.. it was about 30 years since ive been on the water. moved to AZ in 92 we always had family boats. my dad pasted,7years ago. so in his memory. i started going back out 2/3 times a year out of H and M landing. for the past 4 years. now im hooked again and thinking about getting a ocean boat. now i get to my question.. is there a map with the different landings. and then compass readings to different locations.. thank you Joe
@honeyhole3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know of a map specifically with all the landings but I’m sure there is one around. As far as headings to different locations that would be more difficult to find pre plotted on a map. However it’s not to difficult to chart a course if you know your end point, Just need a protractor. I would definitely recommend getting some type of chart plotter if you’re looking to go out though. As a habit I will always know my reverse azimuth back to a major navigational aid in case the plotter goes down. Hope that helps.
