I've used the Versa-Clutch guns forever. I look forward to getting a cordless one. Just got myself a cordless drywall gun with the collator attachment. You will love it. Lock the trigger and go.

I am in the glazing industry and when I started the corded version of this was standard issue for us. To this day I love them and to see a circles version is awesome.

This tool as very versatile depending on the attachment you put onto it. You can do metal with attachment in the video, or drywall with collated screw drywall attachment, or floors and siding with Simpson strong-tie attachment. Definitely worth the money as you can put half the house together with it. It can also take those big Flexvolt batteries for big jobs. Just an awesome tool.

I have both 621 and 624, and drywall attachment 6201, I haven't figured out how to attach drywall attachment on this versa clutch 622 yet.
@Rand0madness3 жыл бұрын
Yes there are a lot of videos and people in chats that say versa-clutch is for drywall too and I own one and yes you could use it you would probably destroy the drywall no matter what setting is used you would actually be working against yourself. I've done drywall for 10 years and nothing beats a regular DeWalt drywall screw gun with the adjustable Chuck (well, for speed mostly). Flip that switch that locks the trigger in place, set your depth, and run with. Although I prefer the cordless Craftsman in junction with a special drywall bit. all it is, is a Phillips head bit with this metal ring around it close to the tip. If your experienced enough you'll just kind of know where that sweet spot is for sinking the screws properly.

Can you set it between increments like a level 1?
@technoso34233 жыл бұрын
You can use it for a lot more depending on the attachment, and some people use it for drywall because it's essentially the same metal roof that drywall you don't want over tight it any of those, and DeWalt literally shows a picture of some one hanging drywall whit it

I can’t find a good comparison between the three DCF62 series. DCF620, DCF622, & DCF624. Would you help me understand these platforms? I can’t grasp the pros and cons of each.

Is there much difference between using driver with setter bit vs actual screwgun?

this gun is faster and more controlled than a regular bit on a drill
@richardlocke33753 жыл бұрын
It stays spun up to speed and starts spinning when you press screw into material. Much faster

This gun corded feels like home to me. Great gun. Can’t wait to try the cordless, though I have a feeling the counter weight of the battery will feel strange. Mind you. Cord ain’t much lighter 😅

in what ways is the clutch better than just a standard 20v drill with a clutch?
@hammerandhome4 жыл бұрын
this unit doesn't start screwing until you depress the nose against something, allowing the user to keep it running and move faster. it also has a better grip for putting in lots of screws.

Can this gun pound 8” #14 tek 5s thru 5/8th steel girts? I use the corded version and they can take a licken. Great corded just wonder how the cordless would stand up.

It feels like DeWalt could have combined the drywall screwdriver (the 620) and this one, with a speed switch (620 about 4400 rpm and this 2000 rpm) rather than having two distinct tools. Great video and can't wait to see more reviews of all those other tools in your workshop 🙂

This guns strength is also its weakness... Clutch is too powerful for every self-tapping application... Particularly when torque setting 3 is too low and 4 is too high... I really wanted the dewalt to work because ergonomically its the best screw gun out there but no go... I hate to say it but the hilti st1800 is the only screwgun where the clutch gives enough to avoid over torquing... The reason i hate the hilti is because it doesnt last long with heavy use and it is ridiculously unbalanced but you cannot beat its ability to not break self-tapping screws...

He called it a drill!!?!?? Now I'm already skeptical. And he says it's not a real drywall gun? That's exactly what it is, that's why it has a clutch and adjustable depth setting. It's 2500 rpm's? What about it isn't a drywall gun. BTW I only hung drywall for 40 years so maybe I need to learn a little before talking.
@hammerandhome9 ай бұрын
I think you need to watch the video again, this is for metal roofs, the drywall gun is the dcf630. Or dcf620. And yes this is a type of drill.
@evolve9919 ай бұрын
That's the model for metal framing,the higher RPM is for wood. "Type" of drill is pretty broad, drills don't have clutches and depth sets. You'll have homeowners aggravating the professionals with the 'drill' label and that may reflect in the pricing.@@hammerandhome
