He is using the middle zoom option for the mini map. Which is perfect. If he zoomed out one further, it would be harder to see the things scanning from the radar. He knows what he's doing.

lmao, I wish I could get in a server with the guy and just learn from him. It would be cool to have a world class bf3 player running a "pilot boot camp" to help newer pilots get a bit of a chance against elite pilots such as himself.

Actually, if you look up the f4 phantom, it had the option to mount a 20mm vulcan on it, but the majority of strike runs with that plane during the Vietnam war and or other conflicts were done with napalm, missiles, or bombs.

Dude I've got to ask! Do you play any flight sim? You clearly got a firm grasp on the basics of flying in a game. I am a Falcon 4.0 player myself but I find it difficult to adjust to the demands of the BF3 flying schematics.

I switch up between the two... if I'm doing a lot of dogfighting in the round I'll use ECM but ECM relies too much on ping. If your ping is too high, by the time you ECM the heatseeker is already on the way. That's why flares have a little bit of an advantage IMO.

I don't do so well in the F-35 because of the fact if it gets too slow it goes into hover mode also the F-35B has a gun pod not an internal cannon. I do better in the Super Hornet with usually on average 37-0 on Xbox 360. My gamertag is A120 DarkSkar. (will be changing it soon)

ya on console you have to push down on the D-pad and then (depending on your controls set up) it will be one of the joysticks you use to look around your cockpit but you have to hold the D-pad down which can make it kinda tricky to do but you can do it in any vehicle

Hey Sturdy, you even play on BF3 on the PS3? One thing i have noticed about flying on PC compared to PS3 is that you can spot things much further away and see the targets much much sooner... seems you have to be right in the persons face on PS3 to see the target indicators come up so you know where the enemies are :(

yeah that's the point I was trying to get across in order for you too see the guys you'd have to be within about 400-500 meters and by that time you only have about half a second to turn and avoid hitting the ground

i think they meant that irl AA combat in Air is quite hard without missiles. im not a pilot irl and i know little about these things, but i do think that jets irl are rarely used against other jets, it will be a really expensive mistake for the goverment if the pilot fails the dog fight. much easier and cheaper to bait the enemy to an area that has ally AA from the ground level. or send ground AA to an area where enemy air forces are located in.

It seems like the jets are a little quicker and more sensitive on pc than xbox. I wish you could spot from that far away too. That's some damn good accuracy though.

I can't use ECM. No matter how early I think I ECM it never works for me. I can only use flares which sucks because I like that ECM protects me from Stigla bads but my ping is apparently too terrible. I also play on console so maybe that has something to do with it. I just wish consoles had better render distance. If you fly on console you can't spot infantry until you're only a couple hundred meters from them so you have to use the guided missile camera to spot people.
