I started using an ortlieb side pannier sold for bicycles. Works perfectly and does not cost a fortune.

If you bring less luggage there are definitly lighter options for bags - this what I have been using on trips where I was not camping and living out of my bags for three weeks: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooPanWynqJiZY5o

I have the same setup…end of my first season with them, and they are fantastic. I’m trying to figure out how to clean them, seeing this video I miss them looking so clean. Safe travels

@@davidwood974 after my 9000 km Iceland trip they do not look this fresh anymore even after cleaning 😉 I guess with a little effort and some kind of conditioner you could get the original black back but I like them how they are now too

Hey Oliver! "I don't need anything more, my bike is fully prepared", is what I'm telling myself before watching this. I really hope you don't convince me otherwise :D

@@SsiolisP 😂😂😂 that is what I always thought when I saw these heavily loaded bikes but now that I was camping I get it 😉

@@MotoVibes yeah, camping gear, my "Achilles tendon". Bulky but necessary. I almost threw away my rollbag filled with cloths while going through Georgia towards central Asia in June. I thought to myself, I'll just buy a new t-shirt and underwear at each country I pass!!! 😁 Any chance you'll make a video review on those Dunlop Trailmax Raid tyres? I'm mostly concerned of their longevity on a big heavy bike. Take care man.

Not to my taste as they are sooooo huge, but a very well explained review. I've recently installed pannier racks on my 1290 to go with Kriega 32ltr soft pannier bags. But I will only use these when I have the misses on the back. Otherwise I like to travel as light as possible! Looking forward to Iceland videos!

Thank you very much - they are definetly very big that is exactly what I needed on this trip. Quite the experience to ride with so much stuff but it worked out quite well 😉I can also see panniers beeing useful😂 especially when riding 2-up. It is good to have options when it comes to luggage and I am hapyy to have a max cargo setup now at my disposal. The Iceland video will likely have to wait a bit - I have so much footage that I need to find the time to go through all of it but I have some beautiful shots

Did you do anything with your gearing? I went down 1 tooth on the front to a 16 teeth front sprocket and I plan on also going one up on the rear to a 43 teeth sprocket cause it still seems to have very tall gearing for off road as well as on the road and I would like to be able to make 6th gear more useful at 110kmph and up on my 2022 KTM 1290 SAR. And the rear sprocket you have looks like a SuperSprox, that's what spurred me to ask this question. Love your videos.
@MotoVibes5 күн бұрын
@@cliftonsr thank you very much 😉 I have not experimented with the gearing on any of my 1290 bikes. I do use the 6th gear quite often 120 kph+ As for the technical off-road parts I am using the 1st gear and the clutch. When touring off-road gears 2-3 are usually what I use for gravel

Thanks for another great video by the way what do you think of the new 1390 ?
@MotoVibesКүн бұрын
@@avip1977 thank you very much. I have only seen what is out there for everyone else but the photos look good. I like the sleeker design - the tank is smaller. The headlight looks aggressive but it fits the power of the bike as KTM got the crown back for the most powerful adventure motorcycle 😉

hi thanks for this video. so much weight, volume that will bother you off road. When do you need all this volume when traveling alone on a motorbike? I do many trips in autonomy wild camping, tent, stove, clothes, and tools, then spare inner tubes and 3 cameras and 1 drone. I have 21 BROTHERS 2x15lL soft panniers and a 30L SCOUT bag from MOSKO. too much weight is bad for driving, even on the road. Have a good trip everyone
@MotoVibes4 күн бұрын
@@atprodT700 every bit of saved weight is good when riding off-road- this was certainly not a super lightweight setup this time. Also this was Iceland- I had a sleeping bag suited for colder nights and a lot more warm clothes than on my other tours.
