The first recorded tie in the game of bumper pool. Played at New College of Florida between myself and Alex Johnson in our fourth year, after years of practice.

I grew up playing bumper pool in my grandma's basement. It was a lot of fun. I am all grown up now and have my own basement but I went with a 9' diamond instead ;)

The official rules are that the balls are simultaneously hit from the original spots never moved to center
@MM-jk3xw3 жыл бұрын
We were playing by house rules :^)
@robbspeck5135 Жыл бұрын
Yep..center shot woo hoo! Make all 5 from their original spot.
@TheStikapos Жыл бұрын
Correct Josh. That’s why the corner shot is more difficult on some tables. The balls lie where they are originally spotted!
@ronnielittlerock7208 Жыл бұрын
Ya, I was wondering why they were moving balls.
@I_leave_mean_comments Жыл бұрын
Incorrect. If both players sink their first shot ... then they each select another ball, place it in front of their opponent's pocket and repeat the simultaneous shot. In this game, that happened 5 times in a row.

These two do not know that the last 4 balls have to be played from where they are placed. They can not move them (0.o)
@liyahjuli5 жыл бұрын
It’s called regular they can move it

I had one as a kid in late 1980s and 1990s, we didn’t play it that way, only did to start it. I don’t remember what the manual said, but probably more then one way to play.

Why do each of you get to spot the next ball to be hit by the goal's bumper post? Shouldn't you have to hit each ball from where they were initially placed?
@bigneiltoo Жыл бұрын
I was wondering if anyone ever had a perfect game without moving them. Probably happened. For 8 ball players, we normally have to combo a ball off the rail, not just directly hit the cue off the rail.

I've been thinking about buying a bumper pool table since our house is a bit too small for a regular sized pool table. Is the felt hard to change if necessary, and do the bumpers just unscrew from the table when needing to do so?
@alexdroman5 жыл бұрын
Yes the bumpers do unscrew, I dont know anything about changing the felt though

@@dariuswilson2075 You're wrong. There is nothing online about anything to do with restoring a bumper pool table. There are some parts being sold, but that's about it--and nothing with those products telling you anything about installation. Rail rubber--forget it. And professionals consider it a toy and want nothing to do with it, so they won't answer your questions. You basically have to take the table apart and figure it out on the fly.

We have since played a second perfect game! But unfortunately it wasn't recorded.

yeah I would love to see an official tournament, but sadly it's only really popular enough in Belgium and the Netherlands, making it not worth it too get decent cameras and lights for each table

@sizzlechest1157511 ай бұрын
Great job, but you’re not supposed to keep moving balls in front of the hole like that, if you both sink your first you shoot the rest from where they are

@cmd29735 жыл бұрын
Since when were you allowed to touch and move the balls to the center? I have a table and never played that way. If you sink the marked ball then you start with the far left side ball and go down the line if you continue to sink them. So that’s not a perfect game.
@alexdroman5 жыл бұрын
Bumper pool doesn't have the most consistent rules. The second link when you search Google says you play it my way www.gametablesonline.com/bumper-pool-tables/rules.html Those were our house rules
@cmd29734 жыл бұрын
Alex Roman well it’s not how the game is played but whatever makes you happy.

You move them to the front if you both sink the opening shot

@@robbspeck5135 I grew up on a bumper tool table as well and you're correct. The shots are to get harder as you leave them where they are rather than basing your next shot by muscle memory. No pool game allows you to pick up the ball unless you scratch. Also, I'm disappointed this table is rectangle and not an octagon which allows for hard angle from across the table.

So, how common is this? Is this a game that is too easy to master?
@alexdroman5 жыл бұрын
We played a ton and only ever did this twice. I think theres a suprising amount of interesting strategy which is much more accessible than pool or snooker, for instance, there is a lot more defense. I think you can master it with a few hundred hours or play, as opposed to thousands for pool or snooker.
@bigneiltoo Жыл бұрын
I hit 3 straight my first 2 times ever playing. I'm 13-8 and opened with a rail shot 7 of those games. Still, pretty cool to see 2 people hit 5 in a row.

Player on the left, your 3rd and 4th shots are fouls for 'push ball'. Your follow through with the cue is very deliberate and the cue tip remained in contact with the cue ball longer than the appropriate time. Sorry.
@MrTrashcan17 ай бұрын
Yes, pushing--you see it all the time in these homemade videos.
