Perfect Highlights for Dark Hair

I've been doing the “less is more” highlights on my clients and been so happy with the outcome. I only use 26 foils with Guy Tang #mydentity #magnum8 lightener with a sprinkle of GuyTang Collagen Powder with 30vol til I reach a level 9. I pre-tone with the Xpress toner in Misty Mauve for 5mins and rinse and dry and apply a final glaze of Demi.
1️⃣7BB Demi with 6vol 1:2 ratio. Rootagé 2️⃣9BB Demi with 6vol 1:2 ratio mids ends
Process for 25mins.
I love the Misty Mauve Toner because it removes excess warmth and give maximum control and giving that perfect Mushroom blonde tone to your highlight. The final glaze over with the Bb gives a creamy cool beige reflection.
Treat with ‪@Olaplex‬ no2 and did the GuyTang MyHero Collagen Repair system treatment.
I apply all ‪@Guy_Tang‬ #Mydentity styling products and started with #MyHairLube to smooth out flyaways and add shine. I styled with a 1.25 barrel iron and used the #MyStardust Shine spray and hold everything and shape into place using #MyPower hair spray.

My hair is so thick, coarse and dark it’s extremely similar to Asian hair when lifting. I’m Scottish but my hair ain’t 😂 The things I have achieved thanks to Guy Tangs videos and products is insane 😝 my hair usually won’t budge past level 7/8 but now able to achieve 9/9.5 for maximum cool toned blonde through it. I’ll never be full blonde (my hair hates it). I’ve achieved beyond what any hair colourist has achieved in my hair all thanks to him ❤️

That is extra light and it doesn't even look to brassy. I have always absolutely loved foil color and foil frost! It's not even foil, it's something called a "board" that basically acts and is treated just like as if you were using foil!

I feel like you were the first person to really tackle brass like back in the day when this started happening KZbin and everything I feel like it wasn't public knowledge and it's helped a lot because anyone with a level five or below is going to have issues and I used to do hair I don't anymore but I still like to stay current and I do my own and my family so I want to thank you for ensuring that my family and I look amazing and absolutely love your products as well honestly like they were built for brunettes and I appreciate that because before you and I don't know say 10,15 years ago everything was built for blondes! I’m not Asian, but I do have very dark, coarse, thick, level 3 hair. I have a Lebanese ancestor. So, every time I have tried getting or doing highlights in my hair, I have hated them because they looked like tiger stripes! There was one exception: when the tiger stripes grew all the way out, and turned into spun gold on the ends. It was way back in the mid 90s, before the Ombré technique became popular. But, for the life of me, I have never been able to recreate that look. 🙁 😉 I have no doubt you could pull it off, though, Guy. Beautiful work!
