Not enough guided movement techs! You basically figure out the "pattern" that works for the mastery but wouldn't work in normal lobbies

Thanks for helping me identify the pathing and movement needed. The mastery course forced me to improve my superjump and slingshot, but doesn't actually teach you how to do that--and to be fair that's probably an inevitable limitation because players use different inputs. But watching you helped me identify when to employ one or the other or when to chain them. 🙏🏽

Important to note for those who dont know, friendly bots disappear when you fully heal them so be sure not to unless you know you wont need to fly to them anymore.

Honestly, I dare any Mercy haters (who say her movement isn't even hard but never actually played her) to do this hero mastery course and then show their results. I'm a Mercy main and even I struggled with this. I bet 90% these haters would do terribly in those. Great video as usual though Ski!

Honestly, I dare any Mercy supporters (who say her relatively simple movement somehow makes her difficult) to do the other two currently available hero mastery courses and show their results. I am an ex-Mercy main (I still have the most hours on her out of any character) and this was legitimately pretty easy, I got each of them in less than 10 tries including the attempts I had to use to scout out the objectives. The Rein and Tracer ones on the other hand were way harder to get a perfect score on, literally down to the half second. But hey to each their own I guess.

OP wasn't even saying DPS or tank roles are easier, just that Mercy movement isn't as simple as folks who main other roles can make it out to be. 🤷🏽 Anyway, personally, I have done all of them. Tracer and Mercy were equally simple/difficult, it was the tank role I struggled with. It's all relative.

@@oedalis Idk, if you're going for max score (as in every single objective, not just 5 stars) then tracer feels much harder than mercy. Mercy's level 1 and 2 felt incredibly easy compared to the other characters, though I will say her level 3 took me a little longer due to having to figure out a route that worked. About the movement, I just really don't find it as hard as people say it is. Is it fun? Yes. Is it intuitive and unique? Yes. Is it as hard and nuanced as people say a lot of the time? Not really in my opinion. It could be bias since Mercy was my first character and it feels easy for me, I just have never understood the argument that Mercy's movement tech is enough to prevent her from being seen as the easiest character in the game (which in my opinion she is.) I think it's ok to have easy characters in the game though, and people shouldn't be shit on and demeaned for playing them. I was just being a sardonic to OP cuz I'm a shithead

@@BONERCRUSHER Nah, Moira is way harder to get high value on than Mercy. A lot of Moiras are bots and end games with high stats but are throwing by not actually doing anything. Mercy provides way more game-winning value than Moira for a relatively equal level of difficulty, so I’d say overall Mercy is the easier character.

If you’re struggling with agent level and just want to 5 star, you can omit the coins on the jump pad on the far right in the beginning. It saved me a little time towards the end and I still 5 starred ❤

Mercy had the best hero mastery courses honestly. I got the perfect score and top 500 on her recruit mission but couldn't path veteran for the life of me so I watched this video to see how I could do it, and good lord I think it'd take me 3 months to get this down

To make things easier I figured out that you can just hold shift in the recruit run and it'll automatically go to the bot, no clue if it makes the run faster but its just more convenient.

Took me 3.5 hours to get the Mercy Veteran perfect run. My run was completely different and with better excecution I think I could get at least 5 seconds to spare. I'm a bit sad the leaderboards don't reflect perfect vs more perfect. I would totally grind all day to try get #1 spot off fennec

I’m a DPS main, but whenever I play support I looveee playing Mercy. I maxed the Tracer and Reinhardt courses before playing Mercy, and it was a *pain*. I was expecting Mercy to be just as hard, but I got 5 stars on all courses in like 45m 😭 I wanted to finish Tracer and Rein before playing Mercy, I was so hyped to play it but it only lasted an hour 😭

Call me crazy but on the 3rd one i found a way to kill both sniper bots the 2 attack bots and the tank bot within 30 seconds from spawn which eliminates most of the enemies leaving you free to plan a route i just couldnt figure out the route who knows maybe i have the key to getting this run down faster 🤷🏽‍♂️

Only tried the recruit one, and honestly got frustrated with it. I left it at 4 stars, because what it's really testing isn't your Mercy mechanics, but your course knowledge. That's just not interesting to me at all.

It's both tbh. I can kinda see your point, but it's not just about course knowledge. You can know the courses inside out and still fail to get the best scores if your movement isn't great. Just like you can have the best movement in the world, but you won't ace those if you don't know the course. At the end of the day it's just practice until you get it. But you still need to have the skill to complete the course in the first place. If you don't have the skills then knowing the course won't be enough.

I was reflecting that part of it is definitely pathing, which I think is a touch beyond mere course knowledge. Knowing how to path efficiently with your movement abilities helps your game in general, I think.

I'm really frusted with heroes mastery, Its a literal speedrun where u dont really improve ur hero ability. Yeah u can get a better movement perspective and cooldown sense, but nothing that will make you "mastery" the hero. They are working in a project that could be a lot better with the same effort, anything that REALLY will improve some sense of positioning or the hero mechanics. Just think about it, there is levels where u will need to spend 3+ levels to get 5 stars, and theres 38 heroes ig, imagine trying to mastery all of them? Thats craaazy, will a speedrun that makes u nervous and spend ur game time attract the players? If u liked it ok, thats only my vision, but I think they are wasting time making this mode when they could bring something new and attractive to the game \o
