That smile at the end. T.T She just smiles and her face lights up when she sees her Christmas gifts, oh lord, how could anyone do this? How could anyone harm a child? That smile of hers at the end, and the detectives and police looking so defeated, just makes me cry. Especially that woman detective with the pixie cut, I was rooting for her the whole time.

Thanks for uploading this xx I remember when I first read the newscast on this story, the police even that early on were pointing the finger at the parents .. and I thought no way the parents did that. As time went by I came to the same conclusion Smit came to .. The intruder got into the house and waited for them to come home. I also think the murderer was someone known to the Ramsays. Someone who was knew the amount of John Ramsay's bonus and was pissed off because of it. Probably a neighbor
@dhom100
@dhom100 13 жыл бұрын
the scenario proposed by Lou Smit is very credible and explains a lot of things that the Boulder police couldn't explain. their neighbor heard a child screaming at 2 am. what were the police thinking, the woman was crazy or dreaming? there were other witnesses too who saw or heard strang things but nobody saw an intruder. but it was dark and trees around the house made it possible for an intruder to get away.

It's like, even if you weren't involved in the crime, if you own an object used in the crime, you're guilty. So stupid.

The DNA found on Jonbenet didn't match ANYONE in the family. So, that is why they were never charged. The evidence available at the time didn't support the family being guilty. You can't argue with DNA.

The extranger intruder is OK theory - I do believe it was an intruder but not extranger to the family. There are problems with this theory, if the I ventilation is right about the window spider-web not been disturbed and no foot prints. Another problem, the torch could not have been used first as this would have killed her - no need for the strangulation. I think the intruder used a key and he is known to the Ramseys.
@dhom100
@dhom100 13 жыл бұрын
@videsiful initially they cooperated with Boulder police but the police was convinced her parents did it and was trying to convict them and ignore the possibility of the intruder theory. The Ramseys were frustrated that the investigation stalled while the killers were getting away so they hired their own investigative team. their attorneys then advise them not to be interviewed by police. this led to the media, public, etc concluding that the Ramseys had things to hide and were guilty.

Just because you feel sympathy for the family shouldn't make you blind to the fact that she DID wear heavy make up in some occasions. Anyway even if she wore make up that is no excuse nor invitation for the abominable actions committed against her.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the pedophile responsible was in the Boulder Police force? It would explain a LOT (stun gun, improper handling of the crime scene, trying to pin all the blame on everyone but themeselves, etc.). Too many scenarios exist to pin it on one person... I think another plausible scenario is the son.... younger sister gets all the attention on xmas, rich parents find out their son did it, don't want him away for life, create an elaborate note and lie.

if Smit's theory could be proven by hard evidence i would say that man is a godsend. i want more than anything to believe too that an intruder killed her. because who wants to believe that a mother could stand by or do those terrible things to her own child. but there's too much other "stuff" involved that complicate this case and the Boulder PD didnt take the right steps in the beginning to seal off the crime scene further adding to the "fogginess". poor girl. the world may never know..

I think the killer actually never wrote the ransom note... He could have promised to share the money with someone who wrote it... I mean, if he knows the family, he knows that his handwriting will be tested. It's safer to ask someone who has no connection or whatsoever to the family. But who would still be interested in sharing the money

it seems to me that the pagents are too stressful for a kid, the little "beauty queen" could not even wipe her own ass. that is NOT normal! perhaps the pagents should be left to the grown women who need that type of attention.

If it were my child missing, i would have looked through every room, every cupboard and closet 10 times over. I would have been out putting up posters, interviewed as many times as need by the police. Making plane reservations out of the state within 35 minutes of finding their daughter, taking over 4 months to even interview with the police and hiring lawyers, refusing to take a poly.

WHODUNNIT? UPDATE: well, it wasnt patsy, even though handwriting analysis showed her handwriting was overwhelmingly similar to the ransom note. and it wasnt John either, he had no motive, and there was NO intruder. that left ONE person. the son, Burke. who people have testified that he had temper outbursts against his sister on a regular basis, had hit her in the head with a golf club, and was so angry jealous that she got all the attention etc, that he smeared feces in her bed, on the walls, on her christmas candy, etc. On that night, she snatched some pineapple from his bowl and ate it, he got angry and chased her, and smacked her in the head with the lg flashlight, too hard, and when she collapsed, he realized he had over done it, hit her too hard, and he panicked. she actually had a cracked/crushed skull. he either dragged her downstairs and put her there, or he rushed upstairs and told his parents,who then, shocked and horrified, stayed up all night to stage a breakin and pseudo abduction/kidnapping of JB. Patsy wrote the ransom letter, and John either put/and or created the scenario where she was found. the parents were horrified, but collected themselves and successfully covered it up, by inviting all their friends the nxt morning to tromp around the house/yard= contaminating the scene so nothing could be found. Eventually Patsy passed away, John remarried, and u wd think the remaining two family members wd cling together. NOPE! the father and son live far apart, and apparently rarely see/talk to each other. POOR BURKE!! he was ignored in his childhood, now is ignored by his own Father in his adulthood. how VERY VERY SAD for Burke! it was an accident, he didnt mean to kill her. The parents then covered it up so they wouldnt lose their only remaining child.

This is all just so sad. This little girl was killed a long time ago but still can't rest in peace.Does it really matter how much make up the girl wore, She was very beautiful. No matter what you wear it give's no right to someone to kill you. No one will ever really no who killed her.( i wish one day they do, but still there is nothing left to base it on.)People said the mother did it well if she did what could they do she died.

It’s not far fetch to say someone who knew them took the notes and pen and other items during the lavish Christmas or parties that the Ramseys hosted. The numerous people who have been in their house would have known all the rooms on each levels-that’s not difficult to know once you walk around and roam around or are told of the house in conversation. It seems like it was an attempted kidnapping of the child that turned bad. The child probably fought back and tried to scream and in a panic the devil who’s intention was probably to kidnap molest and kill not for ransom went ahead with the heinous crime in house that had many rooms for the devil to hurt the child. There have been cases where these devils actually come into the home brazenly and snatch children. Like the Polly Klause. These devils even attempt on the street in daylight. They are evil and have no boundaries. Of course, they are going to make it look like it’s the parents. The parents were distraught and grieving and people look at their behaviors and say they are guilty. Can’t imagine all the frenzy as you try to grieve the lost of your baby in such a heinous way that happened in your house. Poor family. Prayers

No doubt this case will always be a sore thumb to Boulder Police Department. But, no family is that perfect. Patsy had a history of enduring cancer, and high expectations from her daughter. JonBenet also had a history of bed wetting and perhaps subtle emotional stress. Maybe even rebellion. IMO....the secret is within that family.

Donna LeGoo Patsy was a religious person. Somehow I just can't see her dying without confessing/admitting she was involved in any way. I don't think her conscience would have allowed her to remain silent. However, I tend to agree with you that the secret is within that family. I followed the case from the time JonBenet died until the death of Patsy and to this day I have many doubts as to what really happened.

no proof exists and the DNA exonerates, so all the above you stated does NOT equal a parent savagely abusing and strangling their child with that garote apparatus and the knots tied are one of expertise to a very disturbed individual out to do things to that precious child we dont even imagine. I know the parents and burke had nothing to do with it. One of them would have broken down at one point during those 10 years blaming the other ...but that did not happen.

I agree, maybe not the mother specifically, but from this movie it seems to me the Ramseys have some sort of part in the murder of JonBenet. I was actually born in 1996, so I wasn't around or old enough to witness this case, but my mother also thinks that JonBenet's parents are guilty. Hopefully one day we will get a concrete answer. But it'll probably be too late to bring the killer to justice and avenge JonBenet.

The police were so intent on nailing the parents that they lost sight of the bigger picture. The police fucked up from the get up, they were unprofessional, disorganised and incompetent. The detectives on the case were mere amateurs who had no idea what they were dealing with or how to handle it.
