Notice at 4:34 that John Ramsey says, "withhold her for proper burial." Where have we heard that statement from? That's right, the ransom note. Anyone else find that interesting?
@misbellesmith9310
@misbellesmith9310 4 жыл бұрын
The note did say that but the police department said it also. Its actually illegal to hold a body when the coroner releases it but the police violated that law. There was one police officer that admitted that. So the police and killer made the same statement, hmmm.. The Ramsey's didn't trust the police and I don't blame them. The Boulder Police department did a terrible job with this case.

@Anne Chester#1 , I'm married to a police detective he watched an autopsy of a child last week. The coroner has the authority over the body on scene of the death. The police actually can't do anything to a body without the coroner permission. The police detectives worked in tandem with the medical examiner and when the investigation from both ends is complete the medical examiner releases the body to the family. You don't need several weeks to pick a body apart. My husband watches autopsies frequently. The autopsy he watched last week took about 2 hours I know that because he missed my daughters doctor appointment. The thing that takes the longest is the toxicology reports. They do not need to hold the body pending toxicology reports. In this case the medical examiner did his job and also knew that the detectives got what they needed so he released the body to the family but that's when police tried to intervene and hold the body which is illegal by statute.

You sure functioned enough to go on CNN the very day after your daughter's funeral. Wow! And in this interview they say they should have been questioned right after finding Jon Benet, yet another interview they say they were too "distraught" to talk with police and Patsy was in bed for weeks. They don't fool me.

+Monique Vetrano Because it was Christmas, all the rookie cops were on duty. Still, I find it very odd that the Ramseys immediately started calling their friends and neighbors and asked them all to come over right away. Also, it's weird that they didn't immediately wake up Burke to see if he had seen or heard anything.

They screwed up by letting friends of the family mess with the crime scene in the first place. Had they not done that, they might have found more evidence including what Lou Smit found.
@tracy7275
@tracy7275 8 жыл бұрын
how could lou smit find it months later if the family already messed with and destroyed the crime scene on dec 26th. That is not logical . what did he find anyway ? the only think I think her surmised was that someone came in through the window . His whole theory was an intruder but I'm not sure what the real evidence was . Why would an intruder write the note and put the pen and pad exactly back where he found it . John ramsey was so crushed he tried to get out of town dec 26th . doesn't make sense to me . Families usually demand to talk to police they want the killers of their loved ones found . Not this family. That was obvious to police

+Tracy727 he looked at all the pictures the police took & found things that they didnt mention in their evidence. like the bed skirt at the bottom of the guest bed. it was tucked in all around except for one spot where it looks like someone couldve hidden under the bed & came out (IF there was an intruder). He also found a foot print in a picture of a combat boot that NONE of the family owned. He also found that she was most likely tazed with a tazor on the neck & back which is possibly how someone couldve gotten her out of her bed without a struggle. watched the documentary with Lou Smit & you'll see the rest of the thing he found. seems like you havent watched the most recent 5 documentaries that just came on tv in the past week. they show & talk about everything they have found within the past 20 years.

JR just didn't want to "get out of town". He wanted to be with his other kids, protect them, comfort them, and be with all his living family. He lost a daughter previously, a young woman about to get married who was killed along with her fiance in a tragic car accident. He was doing what a father should, gathering the clan, protecting & caring for them all under one roof.

The parents did not cooperate in the first place there was one detective trying to control 9 people in a situation that was introduced as a kidnapping then suddenly turns into a homocide. The Ramseys knew exactly what they were doing when they called up all them Christmas buddies. They knew that the police force was not enough so they call them up to come over and do as they please all over the damn place just to put us all in the situation we are in today, an unsolved murder yet it has every piece of evedince a case ever needs to be solved.. So i won't blame the police completely

I love how through this entire ordeal. ESPECIALLY, at Jonbenet's funeral you don't see A DROP of emotion on the father's face. And haven't in the years that followed up until now. There are so MANY "red flags" in this horrific tragedy. I just can't fathom how these folks walked away "scot-free". If any folks out there are as passionate as i am about this disturbing case. I STRONGLY recommend you read the book "Foreign Faction" by A. James Kolar one of the lead investigators on this case. His book shed's new light and evidence that points to family involvement on ALL levels. He also totally dismisses and explains how Lou Smit's intruder theory is bogus. It's a VERY interesting read that left me floored by the time i was finished reading it. You can pick up the paperback version quite reasonably on Amazon or Ebay.

FOUR MONTHS! It took them 4 months to give the police interview! Personally i dont believe the Ramseys murdered JonBenet, but they sure have acted funny. I dont blame the police one bit for fixating their eye on the parents. And the 3page ransom note, 'look at us, the group of foreign fraction group, not the parents' was just too much self-serving, and made the 'intruder' story a very hard sell. No kidnapper would cut their money tree and leave it behind.

Yes- hire an attorney if you're the parents of a murdered child. Particularly if there was a fake kidnapping and ransom letter and the child's dead body was found still in your own home. Yeah, by all means. Then spend years defending yourselves instead of finding the supposed real killer. Divert as much attention away from yourselves as possible. Throw in a few false leads and red herrings. Write a book. Go on TV and wallow in your victimhood.And just generally move on with your lives. I'm sure anyone would give that advice.

How can your child be taken out of their bed, hit in the head, molested, and strangled to death in your own house then the killer goes roaming around the house to search for some paper and a pen and write a lengthy ransom note and leave? it's protocol to withhold a body when tests are inconclusive, when further information needs to be gathered. I realize ppl want their families and loved ones body's so they can put them to rest, that's understandable. However, John Ramsey was intelligent enough to know the reasons why his daughters body was being held. To refuse to be interviewed by the police, yet they go on tv to be interviewed, they publish parts of the ransom note; none of this is logical. Although I'm pretty sure that John and Patsy were paid for their tv interviews. Sorry, but that's sick! The Boulder County police botched the entire investigation but what John and Patsy Ramsey did was despicable! Patsy claimed she didn't even recognize her own handwriting in the photo album. It's apparent that she was lying in order to cover up her guilt; she wrote the ransom note. They weren't asked for the clothes they were wearing until a year later? One has to question what the Boulder County Police were thinking. And as a reminder to Patsy; you were wearing the same clothes as the night before! In your haste to cover up your daughters murder, you forgot to change clothes, and by the way, you were wearing your make up when you answered the door. No mother would be thinking about make up when their daughters supposedly been kidnapped. The Ramseys question why ppl think they're guilty, well it's because they appeared guilty by their own actions! I do not believe Burke murdered JonBenet, but I think he knows who did!

This case is freaky. Nothing makes any sense. And the parents, specially mom is very suspicious. Once they showed her handwriting that was 100% her hand writing and she claimed she can’t recognize it’s hers or not. Lol under normal circumstances i always recognize my hand writing. So im sure she could also. This shows she tried to hide that she wrote the ransom note. And the device to strangle jonbenet was also build out of tools of her mom. Very disturbing.

@EbonySings4u I have heard recently that it's believed somebody who worked in John Ramsey's building knew of Jonbenet, and had attended her pageants due to his infatuation with her. When the Ramseys visited friends on Christmas Day he got into the house and just waited. It was said that Jonbenet got up in the night and had to something to eat from a bowl at the kitchen table - the bowl was photographed and tested for her DNA.

This case always disturbs me, frightens me even. It makes it more eerie that it's unusual that a kidnap ransom note was left but then the child was murdered and it has never been solved. Who would do this on Christmas night? It had to be someone who'd been invited into the house for one of their parties and was an acquaintance or a friend of a friend and saw their chance! I think it is deffo somebody who knew the family rather than a total stranger. I also think this case was solveable if the Boulder Police hadn't just focused on the family as suspects and forensic science had been a bit more advanced in the late 90s. I've seen cases more perplexing and older than this being solved so there is still some hope. I do hope so as that child needs some justice...I don't think the family had anything to do with it no matter what anyone else says!..

The narrator states that the Ramsey's were very religious and for them, the police withholding Jonbenét's body for proper burial is unforgivable, it seems odd that they would commit murder which in itself is an unforgivable sin

It makes me so angry, do people even care that a little girl was murdered in horrific circumstances? In the UK where I am from originally there is no way that the Ramsey's would be in a position to negotiate with police about how and when they will be interviewed, who will be present and where it will take place! Are you kidding? they would have been interviewed immediately with just a lawyer at the police station not 4 months later by which time they had rehearsed their stories, unbelievable!

I'm certain the intruder(s) had been in the house on prior occasions, for test runs and to get the layout. They found John's bonus amount on paperwork and used it as a game. Why would Patsy use that amount if she did it? That would be asinine.

I'm positive they were too. That is if there were two of them. But pretend it's one suspect for a moment. Another comment u made, about burke being the fifth wheel. I found some stuff I had posted in another video. Looking at the 1997 case, the victim also had an older sibling. If it's just one suspect, I would be in belief that this intruder may have been the fifth wheel himself in his family. The two victims lived about eight to nine minutes apart from each other, I saw that as I found more in research. I'm wondering how long the suspect lived in boulder. The city is huge, how would he know his way around it unless he lived there for years? Even more so, I think the police should begin by looking at what commonalities the ramseys' and the other family had. They should've looked into what stores they shopped at, where they ate out, where they bought their groceries. The only other similarities between both families I found in research was they both came from upscale families, both lived in boulder, Colorado, both lived about eight to nine minutes apart from each other, both victims attended the same dance school, and both victims had an older sibling. These r key pieces the police never examined, and because of that, both cases r still cold.

Melissa L All that considered, the parents must have somehow been accessories to the crime, if not directly involved; because if a mysterious intruder had been in the house on prior occasions for test runs and to get the layout; chanced upon a pay stub indicating the amount of John Ramsey's recent bonus at work and then using it as a game, that would take up a substantial amount of time in the house and leave things out of their ordinary place, which makes all the nearer to certainty that this strange fellow would be caught in the act. Typically an intruder would plan his crime in such a way that he takes the point of entry posing the quickest and most efficient route to the child's bedroom and then out of the house again. I'm not sure why some stranger would even be allowed to randomly tour the entire house in the first place if the family didn't know that person.

Agree. Also, at 3:57 he also says "Listen" our friends and attorney sat us down..."Listen Carefully" was one of the first words in the ransom note. Patsy wrote that note while John dictated most of it. Her handwriting was the same. Those two had been up all night covering up a murder or accidental murder. The bonus money the same. JR connection with SBTC. The interviews with police that first responded, etc, etc. They had to keep up the facade of the perfect life. A quick thought up plot to keep one of them out of prison. Like OJ, the money hindered justice. The world knows JonBenet. RIP little one.

I have worked in the law enforcement field John Ramsey should not have been allowed to walk around the house and it is strange how the police said they had walked everywhere in the house but could not find her but yet John Ramsey went straight to the basement are what is known as the wine cellar and found her. if a stranger had done it they would not set down and Write a 3page letter than sexually assault jonbenet than hit her on the head than strangle her with her mother's paint brush and the rope also came from their home I still say the brother did not do it according to one of the electronic voice phenomena jonbenet said her and her brother was being sexually abused and yes the family knew who was doing it

They just seem so fishy.. epically the dad. I really feel the parents have something to do with it. The police come, find a door that wouldn't open and just leave without trying to open it? Come to find out her little body was only 5 feet away from that locked door? Everything went wrong in this case. Reminds me of the Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love case. So sad that nobody had the technology then as we do now. Whatever the case may be, I pray this little girl gets full justice now or 20 year's from now. No child deserves to be brutally strangled or beaten! So sad. I was only 5 when this happened but I'm literally just getting into this case. R.I.P and prayers for her and the family
