Dimash also has perfect pitch! It’s said in an article about him that when he was 6 years old that he could tell that the piano he was playing was out of tune! His parents confirmed that this story is true! Both of Dimash’s parents are accomplished and celebrated vocals/musicians in Kazakhstan and that the reason they started his music lessons at such a young age is because they noticed he had perfect pitch. He started piano lessons at the age of 5 and won a national piano competition at the age of 6. Dimash himself says that he always loved going to watch his parents perform and that after every performance he would run up on stage with them and take a bow and help receive the flowers given by the audience after the performances. You’ve probably heard his mother sing by now and also his father but if you haven’t you should because you can definitely tell the influence his mothers voice & style had on him. His mother has a beautiful voice and so does his father but from my understanding his father ended up becoming a music producer then a music executive. Dimash was raised by his Grandparents under a Kazakh tradition called “Return the Son” in which the Grandparents live with their eldest son and when the eldest son has a son of his own they are raised by the Grandparents, thus Dimash being the eldest son of his parents, he was raised by his Grandparents but his parents lived with them and of course was a major part and influence in his life! Dimash’s Grandmother was a teacher and she also sang and his Grandfather played Dombra which Dimash also plays as well as Drums, Piano, Guitar ect. His entire immediate family are all musical and also academic! These are all things I have read or heard in interviews so if anyone reads this and I have given any information that isn’t accurate please correct my errors, they certainly wouldn’t be intentional, I’m just so fascinated by Dimash and his talent and also his family because he is such a well spoken, educated, humble, caring and kind young man who is beyond talented, he is truly the eighth wonder of the world but I love & respect that he remains humble, truly loves his fans and truly wants to make a positive impact in the world and is an absolutely amazing role model for not only the younger generation but also the elder. I’m a huge fan of his talent but an even bigger fan of his humanity! Thank you for your reaction, review & analysis, you’re very good and thorough and you explain things very well for people who may not be musicians or understand the technical aspects of vocals ect. Sending much love to you and everyone around the world & wishing everyone great health and happiness. From a friend in the USA

He was definitely sick! You noticed that before singing D8, he planned to sing G after D, but at that moment his vocal cords just slammed shut (you know how it's happens when you sing with sick vocal cords), 9:01 and the air could not pass to produce G (not sure what an octave it was, you know better). The second shaking of the mic, at the time when there was no sound, for me not only as a musician, but also as a psychologist, showed me his body language (I mean his second shaking of the mic), like he shakes his vocal cords to clear the way for the D8, and he nailed D8, saying to the nature "No! I will do it anyway! But even higher !!!" Because of that he is my real hero!!! Really brave and unfear man!!! We all know that it's too dangerous! Because of that we pray for him! Asking God to support him on his creative way!!!

Hey, thanks for reacting to this version as well! :D It was very interesting analysis to listen to. I also noticed right away when listening to it, that someone in the audience kept whistling that very same pitch over and over again once Dimash hits it, even after the music ends lol. The confusion with G7 is probably because that's the one he intended (he did it in the past few times), but for whatever reason missed it to C8 initially (yeah sure, why not hit half an octave higher by a mistake when you're Dimash), and then corrected to whatever fit better.

Jérôme Proulx I have seen other people saying that nothing is coming out in the part where he is shaking the mike just before the D8 but if you listen carefully you can hear him singing (not sure what note), but not very powerfully or maybe the mic didn’t pick it up so well? I can definitely hear it. I can hear the vocal acrobatics where he is shaking the mic too.

I just found your channel tonight and have been listening to several reactions to Dimash. The night of this concert he was sick and had difficulty with the note preceding the D8 (which some say was his "apology" for missing that one note). Not sure if that is true but the performance was beyond amazing either way. You have one of the few reactions to Dimash which I really like and appreciate. Thank you for your input and musical knowledge. I have subscribed and hope to continue watching.

Dimas has perfect pitch, with less than 5 years they found out in his family (all musicians) and his piano teachers confirmed it, he won a piano contest when he was 6 years old, I am not very fond of whistles because if you don't do them With a lot of technique over time, it ends up with the voice, I think that is why Dimash no longer abuses this sound, there are videos that he have made this musical effect a long time reaching he a G#7. I liked the video, thanks
