This was the Gakku Music Festival in Almaty, and was attend by an estimated 150,000 people. The concert was 6 hours long with many performers. Dimash was last to perform, and everyone stayed to hear him sing. Hard to believe the D8 was spontaneous, and not planned, but it was.

Watching other live performances of this song , if you look at the same part of the song during his performance, he tries to hit that note then as well .. the ones I’ve seen , it didn’t come out when he tried . But it did in Gakku .. it was awesome .. just saying it doesn’t appear it was spontaneous.. it appears as a part of the song and either works well or sometimes does not ..

Another great reaction, as always. Dimash set a record for the highest note ever sung in a live concert, during this 2017 live performance. It is his now-famous D8. There were approximately 150,000 fans in attendance. Dimash wrote “Unforgettable Day” himself. During the performance, he made certain to erases any doubt that this was indeed anything other than a true live performance by moving his make quickly from side to side. Dimash not only hit a D8; he did a glissando and held it for ~5 seconds, even adding vibrato to it. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest note ever produced by a male as an E8. That was done in a studio, where the singer was just trying to hit the note. He held the note briefly after a proper warm-up and several attempts. Dimash has sung many whistle notes in the 7th & 8th octave in other live performances, but the above is his highest note to date. Check out Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance. He incorporate a high whistle in this duet with Li Yugang....who sings female vocal parts in the Chinese Opera. Naysayers say he’s just showing off....but with Dimash he puts it to use. He has done these notes since a teen and always does it with expression. Dimash is a passionate person. I think here at Gakku it fulfilled an expression for him. Sometimes he does it because the fans get a kick out of it. Appreciate so much your reactions and support of this exceptional young man. In 2017 Dimash sang there in front of an audience of 150,000 people. Dimash has several songs, where he sings whistle notes in the 7th octave. One of them is "Unforgettable Day" (only in some of the performances of the song), another - "The Diva Dance" (in Shenzhen concert and at the Chinese 2020 Spring Festival Gala (the video is "Drunken Concubine +Diva Dance"). He has sung in public a note in the 8th octave ( D8, off the piano) only in the Gakku peformance. There are other singers, who have sung whistle notes, but most of them not so high (e.g. Mariah Carey's highest notes are in the 7th octave).

The Gakku Music Festival is outdoor and there were I believe 140 thousand people there most to see Dimash who headlined the festival in 2017 singing 5 or 6 songs and the fans waited for hours to see him. Gakku is also a music TV station in Kazakhstan where this festival is held annually. Dimash famously sang the highest note ever performed live, a D8 for 5 seconds complete with vibrato. He did it spontaneously and so easily so he can most likely go higher 😁❤ Also never hold back from doing the same song from different performances as he always makes it different, a great example is the song Know, he sings it sometimes with lyrics, sometimes with none at all just from the sound of his voice, but always different each way at all performances. I believe Gakku is the name of one of his major concerts. Watch for a special moment--when he goes so high, he sings the D8 note. It's really thrilling.By the way, Girl, you have such beautiful eyes! I paint portraits and I would so love to paint you! But I'm not THAT good. And also, don't worry. I'm almost 80, and I get goose bumps too! That D8 is a rare sound for any singer. He goes so high that his vocal cords go into a unique vibration--hence, the whistle tone!He used to have to work real hard to do that "at will," and he would get really happy when it happened. Now, he can make it happen, and he does it as a special treat for his fans.Asia, you've been officially "Dimashified." And you're both DEARS. Welcome to the club!
