I happened to catch this game live from betterstrategy and the post game commentary highlighted that 6v6 really requires different tactics than 8v8. E.g. there are going to be many more leaks into the back

The Centurion doesn't really work effectively in a monocomp by itself, it needs to be mixed in with a lot of Pawns. It outranges Grunts so adding a couple Centurions to your Pawn line means they can't kite you, and having Pawns around protects the Centurions from getting rushed by a mob of Grunts or kited by rocket or plasma bots. I'd guess the mistake people make is that they try to spam out nothing but Centurions and it doesn't really work out and then they just never make them again. Centurions also have way more health than other T1 bots so they can potentially tank fire from rocket bots, LLTs, etc. and get healed by a Lazarus to be really efficient early on. Armada gets Ticks, Pawns, & Centurions while Cortex only gets one generalist unit that somewhat covers all of those roles by itself. I think hypothetically you can be way more efficient using Armada's three different basic bot types to complement each other, but I still see a lot of people just complaining about Pawns being outranged by Grunts while forgetting Centurions exist, I think a lot of the community hasn't considered the concept of using them together yet.

There's also some sneaky very early centurion strats, like 2 centurions plus the commander healing, pushing really heavily. They have enough hp to make use of the heals and juuuuuuuust outrange other commanders if you're good with them. Usually only a play in low 1v1 or 2v2 games though. Else a defensive commander death clears it right up.

​@@chronographerYeah I just played in a game with the balancecandidates unit tweak where the centurion is buffed and my com basically got killed by that. Granted I was the lowest os facing the other team's 2nd best player but still.

​@@AbyssWatcher745if they buff centurion it will become a crazy strong unit. As a centurion fan, im totally fine with its niche application and its requirement for fine control. If anything, its turn rate can be touched up just a tick.

Anyone ever notice just how large the wildlife is in BAR? Those craps on strait? Yeah, they're the size of a sedan, and the critters on this map are as wide as a tree trunk. Holy balls!
