Samus combos feel different from any other character's combos. They rely so much more on covering options and reading your opponent compared to guaranteed stuff like knee set ups for Falcon. Even just regular neutral play from a high level Samus is entertaining for this reason - Samus has a moveset that seems to cover so many different situations, and if the optimal choice is made, you get combos like this, where it looks like the Samus player is literally reading the other guy's mind. Especially when things like missiles and charge shot come into play.

This video is too awesome. congratulations for making this Happen ^_^ this is like a video for all future or current samus mains saying if we can be great you can too. plup is my favorite one to watch, but I just love watching all of them play. recently been watching duck and the dude rekt leffen just recently match was hype as hell. Hugs is good too and he places pretty high. 3 of the best samus out there now we need a fourth one to Join the league ^_^ to be as great as these players. I am hoping to be as great as them soon, but I hope anyone just becomes as great as them using samus. They have the gravity suit, the pink color, and I'm going to say the phazon suit( misspelled it probably ). My color is going to be the original one and I am hoping I can meet these players and win or lose it will be a privilege. video actually brought me some tears . Samus is HYPE ^_^

+William Kai-Leung (Kai) haha thanks for appreciating that! Most of the music I tend to use are either VGM and/or OSTs from anime/cartoons that I've enjoyed! Aside from listening to JPOP/KPOP and the mainstream English songs you hear on the radio, I don't really have much exposure to other music/artists which shows in my lacking music choice for the main feature song. :/

If you're gonna have music with build-up and drops you should at least sync it with something powerful, like some kind of combo into charge shot (charge shot synced with the drop). If you had a less exciting song then there isn't much to sync with, which would be fine, combo videos don't always have to have drops. It should also be something that fits, I know you don't listen much to a ton of music, but it's not too hard to look up a couple of songs or ask for recommendations. I don't particularly dislike the music, but it doesn't fit incredibly well with Samus as a character or really any of the players. The clips were really well picked out though, it's nice to see that people actually find different vods and use showings from a variety of tournaments, newer and older. I liked it overall, but as many before me have told you, music and music syncs can be vital to good combo videos.

+Mahkram Saile Thanks man, I really appreciate the comment and the detailed constructive criticism! ^_^ I COMPLETELY agree with your assessment as that's the exact same opinion and outlook I have on the video after its release. Like you said, in addition to the poor music choice in the main body of the video, I actually didn't even use it as effectively as I could by not placing appropriate audio/video syncs here and there. I've been taking this first combo video as a lesson of what I did wrong so I could learn from it. If you happen to take the time to look at the other videos I've worked on after this one, you can see some semblance of improvement. :) Again, I appreciate the time you took to give actual words of helpful constructive criticism and that you were one of very few to do so.

Lockon94 Yeah no problem man. I don't have the tools to make my own combo videos, so I figure I should give advice to the guys who do lol. Checked out your None/S2J video, it was incredibly godlike. With the visual effects that perfectly fit Falcon (the blur kinda thing); the intense, exciting, fast music; the clips, the editing, I absolutely loved it all. Really nice work on that. Also checked out the Canada combo video, was pretty good as well. I really liked the idea of a themed combo video, featuring Legend of Zelda characters and players from Canada. Never seen anything like that, so it was pretty cool, very nice original idea. Took the liberty of subbing, looking forward to your future videos.

Loved the video! Criticism: music wasn't synced well with combos. It's hard to do, but it would have given a much stronger effect! Otherwise, production was great and loved everything else. Personal: I don't really like Katy Perry. BUT DON'T TAKE THIS AS A CRITICISM IT'S JUST I DON'T LIKE KP LOL.

Yeah, I'm aware of it now after the fact. :/ I've taken my mistakes from this first combo video and improved my editing on the ones I worked on afterwards. Also, I'm personally not a big fan of Katy Perry myself. lol I was sorta at a loss in terms of what song to use and I looked up a sample of other combo videos to get a general idea. In the end, I made a hasty decision on using a KP remix. Looking back, I think I could have just played it safe and just used a good Metroid Remix. Anyways, I've been more careful about the music choices in subsequent videos and I hope to keep it that way. lol Thanks again for the comment, I appreciate it!

+SSBM Andu Thanks! And honestly, after looking back I'd have to mostly agree with you. The choice for the main song was far from the best (although not the absolute worst it could have been) and somewhat questionable. For what it's worth, I'm at least proud of my music choices for the intro/credits though... even though that isn't as important as the main featured song. Anyways, it's too late to change it now, but if I ever get down to make a sequel to this, I'll work on improving my music selection(s)!

The music almost ruined the video for me. I would have rather just heard the original audio, or video game music like that from prime like one person suggested or well anything but "you're gunna hear me Roooar" ugh if I hear that crap song one more time. And, to make things even worse - while I appreciate you were trying to spice things up and mirror the tension in the matches, the version of the song you used was even more annoying than the original.. more interesting... but just too loud and repetitive and distracting from the game play you were trying to showcase. And, I appreciate you were sharing this video and I get it has been a few years now.. but if you still make videos like this, I hope you no longer use obnoxious distracting music. Some of the combos in the video were great fyi!

+Tom de Weerdt Yeah, as far as the main featured song is concerned it's extremely mainstream. :/ Aside from VGM/OSTs and kpop/jpop, I don't really listen to much music in general aside from the mainstream English songs I hear on the radio. I initially thought this remix would do alright, but definitely far from the best music choice for the first melee combo video I've worked on. I'm hoping to improve on the music selections on the next videos if I ever make more. But yeah, sorry my music selection wasn't quite up to par.
