I've got that exact model. It takes some pretty good photos for its specs, and even though I have a new one, I wouldn't dream of abandoning it in a pile of rocks. I don't know what they did to the screen because if it wasn't fake, it would be in 1000 pieces. Cool that I know what it looks like inside though lol.

Randomly poking around components on the circuit board doesn't tell you much. What you can end up doing is overloading some sensitive component with the current from the probes, or discharge static into it and kill the logic board. I'd recommend visual inspection first. If there's a corrosion on the board, a missing component or cracked solder, it's way safer and easier to find that just by careful inspection under magnification. If you insist looking for failed chips, keep the black probe on circuit ground and poke around decoupling capacitors, just make sure you are grounded somehow when working with sensitive cmos stuff. If you measure short to ground on either sides of the capacitor, it's suspicious but still not 100% proof of a failed chip.
