Best part is Balki on the bus then cut to Larry driving with determination into Chicago. "Nothing's gonna stop me now." So great.

Brian OSullivan Dramatic, too. That scene in season 1 where he gets his heart broken is insane.

Yeah, looking back on this, it's clear this performance went beyond standard '80s sitcom acting.

If it is an actual song, that would be so awesome! The words are so inspirational! and if there's more to that song than we hear in the show (which there is if this is an actual song,) I'd love to know how much inspiration the song has to offer in its entirety!

I have no idea why this show is so underrated. It's like. It'll get picked up by a network in reruns and then be off by like 2 months time. Not to mention the fact that I have seasons 1/2 since on DVD since they came out in 08 and they still haven't added the other seasons (Which, I want to see Pipe Dreams from season 3 again and they took it off YT)

I don't remember, did the guy with the sunglasses from Larry's hometown become a part of the show? He's clearly hamming it up like we should be focusing on him.

When they changed the intro for Season 3, I'm pretty sure that same guy is on the boat with Larry and Balki at the beginning.

It’s hard to believe that Bronson Pinchot at first didn’t want to do the show because he thought it was too much of his character in Beverly Hills cop. However in my childhood that show is golden and everybody was wonderful they don’t make shows like this anymore that’s for sure

Did anyone else notice that the front door changes in later seasons? The apartment looks almost the same except the front door in later seasons is where the closet is in the first few seasons. I just noticed that. Strange. They are obvious in the same apartment. And I don't remember them saying they remodelled. But I guess they did.

Both Larry and Balki have played criminals on Law and Order. Oh how careers can change. My old band also covered the theme song and it was the best decision ever made. CLASSIC.
@lavalampluva5540111 жыл бұрын
The theme was written by Jesse Frederick and Bennett Salvay. David Pomeranz is who sang it.
@Markb247714 жыл бұрын
@kalebparham It was a spin off. The mother in Family Matters was the elevator operator were Larry worked. Also on a side note Steve Urkel was only suppose to be in one episode.

Ahh the good ol days when TV shows had a theme song and a story told through the opening credits. And this full PS version is a minute and a half. Non-existent for years now...
@BVictor2113 жыл бұрын
@MovieMaker5087 Well guess what, the John Hancock Center and Sears Tower, the big black buildings you see in that skyline shot are in Chicago. Yes the Statue of Liberty is in NYC Harbor, but after that image, the skyline is Chicago, and the negative is reversed. And no, it's Lake Michigan. I think I'd know,,,

This theme song is the epitome of '80s cheese: synth drums and electric piano provide the core of it all. That, and the fact Lionel Richie "stole" the melody to rework into "Dancing on the Ceiling." 1986 was such a cheese-tastic year for many legacy stars.

That's the hardest thing about "fish out of water" shows. Limited shelf life. They got 6 seasons but almsot got canceled after 5 with ratings going down. The Same thing happened to Northern Exposure. Sure, Rob Morrows contract disputes after Season 2 did not help, but after a few seasons thw "fish out of water" is not "out of water" anymore and gags that work well on Season 1 fall flat on Season 3.

@BVictor21 At 1:10, that's the Statue of Liberty. You do know that that's located in the New York Harbor and not in Chicago, right? And that the lake you say should be on the left is actually the "Atlantic Ocean"?
@abinashmishra3295 жыл бұрын
Balki took a transatlantic boat from Mypos or Greece to New York. Then he took the bus to Wisconsin and then to Chicago.
