You remind me of my friend who first introduced me to boxing both in your demeanour, attention to detail, and emphasis on relaxation. You're an excellent teacher mate, thank you.

The whipping sound was accentuated by his microphone I think but that is not to take away from the excellent move you are sharing it's similar to a move I was shown for when a bigger opponent is hovering over you. you drop your weight to your knees or Crouch position with both your hands up by your head as if to surrender and pretend to cower you could say something like please don't hurt me then you Rise Up using your legs for power and keep your arm relaxed using your strongest arm you raise your arm up as if to hail a taxi you reach the standing position as if to hail a taxi so your arm comes up with no tension in it right at the top of the movement you make sure your fist is coming up underneath his jaw and neck this is a Japanese jiu jitsu black belt movement which is quite similar to what this gentleman is showing the uppercut and teaching about relaxing the arm and getting the whip. If you try to put any strength in it it ruins the movement your arm must be totally relaxed all the way to the top. And with the movement i am speaking of your arm travels up with your body at the same time your arm shoots up above your head right at the end of the movement that should be just under his Jaw level so depending on your height your legs might not have completely straightened but that doesn't matter. Very good boxing skills in this video My compliments you obviously had a very good teacher and you are a very good boxing trainer Sir Dave trog

I’m struggling with my brain getting in the way of me throwing fluent combos during shadow boxing but when there’s a bag providing resistance everything is much smoother and clean 🧐

Are kettlebell swings, snatches and clean&jerk increase my punching power or speed?
@leebid1626Ай бұрын
I've recently seen Bivol using kettlebells. He does a sort of half squat into a punch holding a kettlebell and then dips down again to switch hands.

I think its not the most optimal way to build punching power and/or speed. Punching power and speed comes form {Relaxation of the uper body} + {Whip/Rotation of the hips} and DONT forget your {technique++} closest to perfect. Training with weights as far as i know for pure boxer, {Core+Legs} exercss is a NEED start to build the fundamentals. After, Sholders definetly need some help with weights but upwards(//semi-vertical) and NOT like punches.Neck ok too.Now for hands , your tendonts dont need weights. Resistance bands are good way and as you older i this its a must tool all around. The reason that punch harder when you do training with weights, is bcs you gain muscle mass =now you are heavier= more weight behind your punches.But everything comes with a cost. I hope i help a bit! Train safe and always do warmup!!!

Coach. I sparred two guys. One 5’11 195 and the other 5’9 140 which is around his fight weight, im 5’8 140 but thats my walk weight. 4 rds two each. Defensively i always felt in control i felt no real danger. Even slipped under rear right hooks and im a southpaw. But i found myself having a hard time “letting my hands go” like id slip or parry or pullback and id see the counter opening but idk why i couldnt seem to bring myself to throw back and when i would it would be weak and limp as shit. Neither guy had me uncomfortable although vs the guy my weight i felt more comfortable for sure cus it felt i was significantly stronger so i had an easy time keeping a distance with a jab. Any tips on letting my hands go or getting thru the mental block of throwing back
