Agreed. It's a difficult one, because even if the "pro" is off here and there in others opinions, it is what has helped them reach elite level.

the reason tank uses the suana all the time ISSS. cus when u have to drop water the day before lbs, ur body gets weak. You also have to train ur body to dehydrate . u wear the suite to train ur body to drop that water and to recover fast. if u dont train ur body, it well suffer the day of the fight.

Strength and conditioning is good for boxing . Like doing road work , running hills , yes reps to do on weights but both amateur boxers and professional boxers only do a little lift weights not much . Boxing all cardiovascular , strength and conditioning, techniques to develop match strategy also.

Come on now. 1.2 times his body weight is not 90 kilos (198 lbs) Tank is a lightweight that fights at 135, 200 lbs on the bench press is higher then that. Max is irrelevant for a fighter. Tank is only 5'5'', he would need way more muscle mass then that to support a bench that high.

Elite boxers dont train with full range of motion, the goal is not to reach failure during a fight, instead these boxers do push up in the applicable range of motion. This is not to say full range of motion is bad, simply that you can also train by focusing on the range of motion most applicable to your sport.

No you DEFINITELY AND DEFINITELY need it. No matter how skinny your legs are. No way he doesn't train it, I think he does endurance leg trainings rather than gaining muscle mass for it because... Literally every boxer coach says the power comes from below and the core

You shouldn’t do full range pushups for punch power 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️ Sports Science should stay away from boxing. All the old school fighters were better conditioned and more robust then any fighter I’ve seen that have worked with Sport Science.

I think he does some good stuff, he actually has a new S&C coach that's doing really good and interesting work with him... maybe worth a second episode! here's actually some clips I couldn't use due to copyright, discussed about heart rate monitors and how he looks after his body - look at my Instagram channel for these. There's some stuff we praised, some we critiqued.. It would be a boring video if we just went "that's great if it works for him"

@angelomanzi9272
@angelomanzi9272 Жыл бұрын
Do everything explosive with your son. Don’t focus so much on doing anything under 3 reps, since the risk for injury is higher with lower reps and you can achieve similar results with other rep ranges 4-6, 6-8, 10-12, 12+ etc. The main thing is you really just want to be controlled on the negative, and explode on the positive as fast as you can regardless of how much weight you’re pushing. If there’s two areas your son should “specialize” his training in its Lats and Legs. All boxers with KO power have next level lats and legs. Jump squats, Lunges, Pull-ups, Rows (of any kind), Hyperextensions (look them up). And a ton of core work, which I’m sure you guys already do…! Good luck.
