Perfect timing? | How two anglers find fish before runoff | Fly Fishing Colorado

This is when it pays to be a trout bum. Two perfect days fly fishing one of the many great rivers in Colorado.
Peak runoff in the western Untied States SUCKS. In states like Colorado, the warm spring weather and blown our rivers seem like some cruel joke. But before the depression fully sinks in, there is a brief window of time where you can experience some of the best fly fishing all spring (and maybe all year). You have to move quick and understand that conditions can shift just as fast as the spring winds. But if you can get on the water right after the ice dissipates and just before the winter snow pack melts.. You will find yourself staring down the barrel of hungry fish and empty rivers. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERYDAY.. aka we got so lucky.

@@oleerprosomvanlig Brand doesn't matter imo! The best rod you have is the best rod you have. Nice line will get our further than a nice rod. As far as size goes I stick with mostly a 5wt but it just depends on the water and the size of fish
