Lovely day for it 😊 I went bexhill on my kayak couple of days ago 1st kayak fishing trip ever absolutely loved it .only out there 2 hours fishing the rest i was trying to get back against the tide haaa..I caught 6 bass 2 spider crabs and a plaice .very happy apart from not anchoring and getting swept about 5 miles from my starting point got back safely but was extremely knackered lol slept like a log that night 🌙 😴 😅

The tide can be very scary depending where you go. Shoreham is quite a good place to fish without having to worry about strong tides. Places like Selsey and Gillkicker can be dangerous. I’ve had days when I struggle to paddle against strong tides. I’m glad you caught fish and had a good time because that’s what it’s all about.

Great vid mate, im going beach fishing for the first time at the end of month, and although im a keen fresh water angler i have no clue as to what line or how heavy my weights should be. Any tips would be greatly appreciated cheers.

Obviously there will be varied opinions on your question and it depends on what your are targeting. To keep it simple 20Lb line with a variety of weights as you won’t know how strong the tides are. Just use a two hook flapper rig with 2/0 hooks for the small stuff and 4/0 if you targeting bigger fish.

It’s for emergency situations if I get into trouble I can communicate with other boats or kayakers I’m fishing with. It’s also safer to use than a wet mobile phone screen in the event I fall into the water.

Love your videos mate, I'm watching while I sit here wondering when the weather will let me get back out in mine again... When you head out do you worry about tides? I know many plan trips around high tide so wondering on your take?

Cheers mate, It depends where I’m fishing. In terms of the state of tide I generally find two hours before and after high tide is the best time to fish. Strength of the tide for example a 5.1 M tide is a different story because with some venues the higher the tide the more dangerous it can be. Although some places I fish it’s not an issue.
