It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, launching was the hardest part. Aye, those aussies know how to camp- all my equipment is from Sea to Summit based in Perth. I work for the UK distributor so never pay full whack, thankfully. BTW, those Ghillies lures turned up, great looking things. Going to save them for bass fishing comp I'm doing in Pembrokeshire at the end of the month. I'll let you know how they do. Thanks mate, really appreciated 👍 🙏

I've got a galaxy Cruz kayak , not been on the sea with it yet , i use it on Scottish lochs for piking , but there are videos on you tube of the galaxy being given a good test on a choppy roker bay . So I can see my first trip being a calm roker bay .

I'd love one, problem is fuel costs. Current cos is £6.18 ($6) per gallon and a big, or small van, uses way more fuel than my estate car (Station waggon) and I can sleep in the back of it. I drove 18k miles last year just for fishing so the cost soon mounts up.

Love your overnight trips - You have very nice kit. Why no catch and cook, there were some lovely pollack caught. BTW, got my net and extender pole in record time but of course ordered the wrong net 🤦♂- have re-ordered a head for the extender so I now will have 2 nets - yay.

It's not cheap kit, but I'm lucky enough to work for that company so get a good discount. I'm not necessarily promoting it though. Glad you got that handle, make sure you either wash it down after use or stick a bit of baseline or wd40 on the threads, they're made of aluminium so salt up pretty quickly.

Eyup Nathan. I'm glad to see you didn't need to re-mortgage to get a gadget that can spot a fish's swim bladder and tell you how big it is. Good grief, you could probably tell if a fish needs to fart. The met office however spent 1.2 billion on their new computer and still can't spot wind coming. You went down like a bechdan there fella. I've got an old barnacle stripe on my wrist that smarts like Harry Potter's zig-zag when I see that sort of thing. Not me Dave, I have the cheapest cheat device available and it works a treat, but things like this are only as good as their operators, and I was hoping I knew more than the met office guru. Seems I don't bounce as well as I used to, but don't worry about the stud guru, I've got some really good Supatracks which do the job nicely, only not in my kayaking shoes. That slipway sounds ideal for seal launch, straight down😂I've never launched down there but have shore fished, the current seems pretty hectic to paddle in, Plenty of mullet in the harbour though. Is that the 4ft Rovex kayak rod? My mate uses that one. The reel is actually a baitcaster, a Shimano Cardiff 301a. Unlike a multiplier, it has a thumb button to release the spool so you can fish with one hand. Great cranking power compared to a fixie

I normally use shads and soft plastics more than jigs, but for whatever reason the fish wanted silver jigs on this trip. Depends on what weight shads you use but I never use them with a flowing leader on a lead weight, just the shad by it's self.

No problem. Couple of tips are to get one with a built in bug net, sleep diagonally across the hammock for a good night's sleep. Also, they can be cold to sleep in so use a sleeping mat/pad to help keep you warm. Hope this helps

It's an old Lowrance hds Elite 4X, had it for 10 years and it's great. Think they've been replaced by the Hook 4 now. Only thing I'd change is to get one with integrated chart plotter. Helps find the ground you want to fish

They are brilliant kayaks, 2nd stability is amazing and they surf well too. The best thing, though, is they're much lighter than the equivalent Ocean Kayak, Galaxy or Jackson kayak. Less energy expended in paddling and easier to lift on and off the car roof. BTW, I'm not affiliated with them in any way

It was very irritating, I normally use a fixed spool on that rod and it rarely tip-wraps but it mustn't be designed for using a baitcaster/multi. Going to stick to the fixie from now on

These weren't just any burgers- organic, free range (if there is such a thing when it co.es to cattle) and fed on grass. Delicious. My plan was to eat my catch on the 2nd night, but the weather had other ideas😔

I still don't get it! £100's of pounds of gear, hours on the water, dozens of fish caught and you didn't eat one? I'll keep watching though, just in case......
