I'd love one, problem is fuel costs. Current cos is £6.18 ($6) per gallon and a big, or small van, uses way more fuel than my estate car (Station waggon) and I can sleep in the back of it. I drove 18k miles last year just for fishing so the cost soon mounts up.

Cheers mate. I'm not really chasing sponsorship, I'd rather use tackle I like and trust. Saying that, the jigging kit used in this vid cost less than 100 quid. 20 quid for the rod, 60 quid for the reel and £10 for the braid.

Eyup Nathan. I'm glad to see you didn't need to re-mortgage to get a gadget that can spot a fish's swim bladder and tell you how big it is. Good grief, you could probably tell if a fish needs to fart. The met office however spent 1.2 billion on their new computer and still can't spot wind coming. You went down like a bechdan there fella. I've got an old barnacle stripe on my wrist that smarts like Harry Potter's zig-zag when I see that sort of thing. Nice to see the camp and some fish as always and that you've got the ketchup/mayonnaise ratio cock on. I'm trying to remember the name of the guy from down south who is the boot stud guru....John something I think. I'll have a search. I'll sithi after! Dave
@SlippyLimpets
@SlippyLimpets 2 жыл бұрын
Not me Dave, I have the cheapest cheat device available and it works a treat, but things like this are only as good as their operators, and I was hoping I knew more than the met office guru. Seems I don't bounce as well as I used to, but don't worry about the stud guru, I've got some really good Supatracks which do the job nicely, only not in my kayaking shoes. Have made a swap now though. Tight lines Dave👍🎣

Is that the 4ft Rovex kayak rod? My mate uses that one. The reel is actually a baitcaster, a Shimano Cardiff 301a. Unlike a multiplier, it has a thumb button to release the spool so you can fish with one hand. Great cranking power compared to a fixie

Do you recommend the Viking Kayak for a first one? Looking at getting my first Kayak but are they worth it? Good video

They're the best kayak I've paddled, really stable, fast and light weight. Come with a good warranty too. If you buy one then you won't need to change it again in the future

I really like using it, but it's not great with saltwater, I had to replace the handle after 3 months and the spool has seized twice.

How much do you rate the Viking Kayak?
@SlippyLimpets
@SlippyLimpets 2 жыл бұрын
They are brilliant kayaks, 2nd stability is amazing and they surf well too. The best thing, though, is they're much lighter than the equivalent Ocean Kayak, Galaxy or Jackson kayak. Less energy expended in paddling and easier to lift on and off the car roof. BTW, I'm not affiliated with them in any way

It was very irritating, I normally use a fixed spool on that rod and it rarely tip-wraps but it mustn't be designed for using a baitcaster/multi. Going to stick to the fixie from now on

These weren't just any burgers- organic, free range (if there is such a thing when it co.es to cattle) and fed on grass. Delicious. My plan was to eat my catch on the 2nd night, but the weather had other ideas😔

I still don't get it! £100's of pounds of gear, hours on the water, dozens of fish caught and you didn't eat one? I'll keep watching though, just in case......
