Indeed HKD7000一晚 for that quality is 貴到飛起 while you can get much much better exp in Singapore, Japan , Mainland first tier cities which explain why tourist spending pp and tourist n.o coming to HK is decreasing comparing to other many other cities. Always have more than enough demand for the five stars hotel or so called top restaurants in HK but it's not sustainable in mid long run and HK competitiveness is going down every single day, majority of HK citizens are worse off as a result.
WIth all due respect, the table in the room looks like a table with a big piece of plastic , pretty ugly for the design and colour in my personal exp for a so called " ultra five or six stars hotel" though that green color is signature for the hotel. Even the hotel doesn't wanna pay for some good quality table with a gem stone service, shall at least pick some better man made material instead of a plastic like table. Many ikea tables look better than that one in terms of color and design , let alone other designers items available in HK. No bath tube for hotel at this price range/tier is definitely a big failure for a hotel established/refurbished in 2022. Most of the Asian five stars hotel are using large % of materials produced in mainland and the cost is really cheap as we can see there are no expensive materials like special gem stone or high quality big piece of marble or furniture used for the room so I don't understand why they want to save the bath tube cost as space is not an issue at all and even an outsider will agree a normal size non super fancy bath tube is pretty much a must have for any 5 stars hotel. The only reason I can come up with is the developer hired a random team without solid hotel design/refurbish exp. In contrast , Murray hotel in central come with a much better non fancy style room their the styles of the two are not the same but restaurant and breakfast quality is really soso and they use a super tiny tray to refill salmon and refill frequency is super slow, they refill one small tray every 15-20 mins as I have no chance to get any salmon so I remember very clear. Can tell they are trying to cut cost by serving less salmon even the smoke salmon they serve are just super market quality salmon according to my observation. Gym is a joke too, super small gym though the hotel is not a huge one but the gym is just too small, yotel singapore in orchard( a relatively old hotel) is just a normal 4 stars hotel which charging 600-1000hkd per night , smaller total size for the building but with a much better gym in terms of size with a 5-7m ceilings , superior machine variety and quality ,breakfast own the Murray and even Regent HK, let alone other five or six stars hotel in Singapore . Breakfast variety for all HK five stars hotel including the so called top tiers one seems very limited comparing to normal five stars cbd hotel in other Asian cities( I'm excluding the resort hotels with much larger areas already ) and even some four stars hotel in Singapore, Japan and Mainland which are charging 40-70% price considering the Purchasing Power Parities(PPP) already. Seen other youtube videos focusing afternoon tea set pp is HKD 1000 at that hotel. Quality and the view of the afternoon tea place are really so so in my opinion. There's nothing wrong for people to pay hkd1000 for that type of food and service but will be great if more youtubers can compare it with peers in other top tier international cities/countries before saying how "good" the food in HK is. Of course a 1000hkd pp tea set is better than the 300-600 hkd pp tea set in hk but the quality really sucks once you compare with any peers from other cities with similar or even higher living cost/standard.
