Kanami was a singer song writer before Band-Maid. She has a beautiful and angelic voice. But, she prefers to just play the guitar. She will still sing backup choruses at times. Her acoustic guitar is K. Yairi, a Japanese brand and is hand made. And yes, Kanami is a genius. She composed this song and almost all the songs from 2016 on since the single "Alone".

In an interview Kanami said that being in Band Maid meant she would not have to sing. I think has to her shyness. Remember when Miku recruited her Miku was to be the main song.

They played 'Anemone' acoustic after this. Before I watched these acoustic versions I never heard Anemone, but thought it was one of their best performances.. Check it out if you have the time. Glad you enjoyed this!

This is an amazing song. The original was great but this acoustic version is absolutely incredible. The way Saiki was singing really projects the emotion of the song. Kanami has such a sweet voice doing the backing. It goes so well with Saiki's vocals. Listening to this always gives me goosebumps no matter how many times I've listened to it. This is a masterpiece. This tops my list of their ballads.

Kanami!!! Kanami!!! Kanami!!! ☕☕☕A dynamic duet with Saiki. It's great to hear Kanami's voice and many of us Maidiacs would love to hear her sing more often in the near future.

Kanami started out singing her own songs and playing guitar on AudioLeaf. That's how Miku first found her and recruited her. I would love to hear a Kanami only song. Maybe on the next album. . .

As great as their songs always sound, when Band-Maid play acoustic versions then the sheer beauty and brilliance of the writing is showcased. It also helps that Saiki's vocals are truly incredible.

What still amazes me is how as a singer songwriter producing this wonderful kind of material Kanami evolves into a world class rock goddess, player and songwriter. I really do think the girl has genius genes.

Yes, Kanami is the primary composer, BUT Miku is the prime lyricist and is highly respected in Japan for her writing. Saiki is now working with Miku with the lyrics. Kanami does request melodies from Akane and MISA, and both Akane and MISA pretty much generate their own lines from the songs sent by Kanami via the internet, before they go into the studio.

The acoustic version is one of "sadness" and "lament," even closure of this puzzling relation. The full band version is the ANGRY/Confused version of the "third railed" Lover's viewpoint in a Puzzling relationship scenario. Band Maid piercing the heart through their storytelling, Po! Both are masterpieces, Notice the calming of the crowd with Kanami's music box synth. It kinda reminds me of the quiet moment and direct stare into the camera that Mr. Rogers (Tom Hanks) had in the restaurant scene, in the movie, "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." It was an attention getter, Po!

The lament of a young woman who is deeply in love with a man whom she finds out has never loved her. And in fact loves someone else. Sung to perfection by Saiki and Kanami. Absolutely one of the most beautiful songs ever.

I think they exist on a higher plane and have somehow entered our dimension, lucky us! Seriously though, pure, untethered emotion and the more that is stripped away, the more layers are revealed. Keep up the good work, I enjoy your reactions.

Kanami actually had a solo thing for a while and sang and played. She finds it difficult to do both at the same time though. She does a fair amount of vocals in other songs as well as the main arranger of all their songs. Also she and Akane were in an acoustic group together for while.

Yeah, we don't hear Kanami sing too often! Did you see the video of Herman Li's Twitch yesterday where he "auditioned" for Band-Maid with Miku and Kanami? Priceless. (an excerpt of it is available on YT) The song right after this in the concert is also just the two of them, and I think it's better than Puzzle; it's called Anemone.

You really need to pull up the lyrics for Puzzle 😢😭. Miku is a gifted lyricist (or poet). The Kanami-Miku song writing team ranks with the best ever, IMHO! Kanami can sing me asleep anytime 🥰. Others have suggested Anemone acoustic, but please include the dialog between Kanami and Saiki before the start of the song (after Puzzle). It's very enduring and adds to the performance. 👍👍🤘🤘🤘

Hi, GF- you know I love Band Maid but I have a suggestion if you haven't listened to them yet. Just a suggestion, but have you ever listened to any Nightwish with Floor Jansen on vocals? If you decide to listen specifically to the Live At Waken 2013. Actually any of their live stuff.. Floor is their third singer and my personal favorite but the other two were good too. You might not like them because it's symphonic metal, Also, there are a number of other really good all female Japanese bands. I know you're familiar with Love Bites, but there's also Aldious, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Doll's box and others. They're all worth a listen if you're interested . Kanami has a solo guitar thing floating around out there on KZbin too but I've only seen it once, before Band Maid. Kanami's creativity is amazing. The stuff on the new album is mind blowing. Listen to the Domination album. It rocks big time.
