I was drawing a square and I said, "It's not perfect." And my friend looks at it and says "I think it's a beautiful square." But I erase it anyway. I keep trying but non of them get perfect, so they all get erased. Then my friend says, "Just draw many imperfect squares to show that no one is perfect." And I looked over at her like "😮 YES," so that is what I did :) ❤

i agree TOTALLY. i’m currently trying to fight my own anxiety, which usually keeps me from showing anyone my art unless i deem it “worthy” of being shown to anyone, and even then, the second i make something “worthy”, the bar changes and i end up just never liking any of my art enough to ever post, so i’m starting to try and just post even my shittier works-call it exposure therapy lol

As graffiti artist i recomend sketching simple letters first, and then box up those lines add fill and outline, and than drop shadow and highlights opposite from eachother on the letter

When I feel like I start to hate my art I always get out my sketchbook, get out some watercolours put on a drawing tutorial or get up a reference. However, I feel that day and I tell myself I’m not allowed to use a rubber for the whole of that one project

I understand you completely, I'm a beginner videogame developer and sometimes my work just doesn't look right, but seeing your video today actually made me more determinated, sometimes we just need a reminder that we're constantly improving and we just need to keep going foward, I think that your art is amazing and you should keep drawing! Never stop what you're doing because we're constantly improving every moment and one day you might look back at your first arts and see how much you improved over time, never give up!!💖

Her art is extra extra amazing! Girl your art is slay! You don’t have to feel burnt out if it’s not up to the mark for you. You just have to keep moving on and on. Nobody’s perfect. One of the great techniques to see if you’re improving is to compare your old artwork to your new artwork. So please try this technique you will feel a lot better!😊😊

This is me. I barely feel like im inproving with art trying to find tutorials and it "never working" because i thought it was horrible and compared myself to other artists. I feel called out because this is exactly what happens with me. I love art but i have never been to any art classes and stuff. Everything I know and do is by my own research and intuition. Whenever I complete a piece I always end up searching for faults in it and always find them. Even the minutest fault makes me feel useless and untalented. Meanwhile, my friends who do go to art school get all surprised with my sketches and paintings and always tell me that I'm doing great. In a positive light, this helps me constantly improve. But on the other side, I feel horrible about myself.
