They are both pretty hot. I push everything pretty hard to get a nice level going into the Rockman 500 power amp.

Rockman was using Randall power sections for a while, since they were making the cabs. I didn’t know carver had replaced the power sections. Things did get weird at Randall when Don Randall sold the company.

SR&D used Randall for the single rack amplifier Rockman 220. The Rockman 500s have always been Carver PM-175 with some slight mods on the connectors with a Bright Switch.

Yes, all the Rockman 500 power amps were top of the line Carvers. They sound beautiful. The cabs were 4X12 cabs modified with a singel Eminence 15", Eminence 10", and a bullet tweeter. Full range with all hand-wound crossovers.

david, just watching this video again, thanks so much, info,i was wondering if sometime you could talk about rockman gear direct through a pa, your experience,and tips, your videos are so helpfull,,there always fresh, to your ears, the amps sounds fantastic, at the end,better then a 5150 amp, thanks again, so a video, with rockman gear direct through pa, no cabinet, i was wondering if you would use the phase nother direct? thanks again .....
