Any way to confirm whether the converter or pump is causing a failure? The Simpson is stalling/vibration when shifting into reverse or coming to a stop when cold. 2012 Ram 6.7l with 150k miles.

Tcc lockup stuck on most likely but i am not familiar with dodge like i am GM. Start with codes and if it is overdrive stuck on like i suspect, there are several causes

I have a 4l60e that blew the front pump seal out of it. The truck was turned off quickly afterwards. I can turn the trans shaft by hand, but can’t turn the front pump shaft by hand, should I be able to turn it? I am curious if the pump siezed up after blowing the seal.

No that shaft is the stator and its stationary all the time.

We only do short videos like this so they work on multiple platforms. Videos over 10mins we use full on equipment in a full frame. Sorry

If your converter doesn't spin freely before you bolt it up just pull it out and replace the pump, you're screwed.

Ever had one totally quit pumping for a few trys, rev it til it pulled again working perfectly maybe 10 times til you think it’s good then no warning fire it up no gears? Rev it and it will ease in to pulling but normal driving no gears..

Is it full? Is the filter clogged? thats all it sounds like unless you have a severe wiring issue in the vehicle.

Yes full, fluid is clean, haven’t checked filter yet. Wiring?! Why yes I have had some issues lately was troubleshooting an intermittent miss, and other random things. Occasionally the battery light comes on, voltage is steady and good with a meter but gauge shows 20v..thought was unrelated.. maybe I’ll stare at the wires some more..thanks!

@@turdpolisher1466 20v is bad! you need to correct that voltage issue asap or you will never keep a trans in the vehicle.
