This week, it’s a great honour to present Prelude and Fugue in C Minor - the CURSED Piece of Bach! This is BWV 546, one of my favourite works - one of Bach’s most dramatic and intense; yet strangely, also one of the hardest to record. Even the original upload had an unexpected audio error - which I have now fixed.
If you enjoy this video, please subscribe to Pep Organ for a new upload every Saturday.
Performed on the 1999 Létourneau organ at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney. My thanks to my wife Kim for filming.

Uploaded only days before Queen Elizabeth decided to somehow cease existing. You're damn right this is "Cursed Bach". This is literal Music of Death. As soon as I noticed the Queen's coffin being sunken into eternal doom I literally thought it was an almighty hand of spirit pulling it down to it's eternal doom never to be seen or heard from again(which wasn't until her final interment in the George VI Memorial Chapel). Then the appearance of BWV 546 pretty much summed everything up at the end of the committal service, it felt like the Queen was totally pulled forcefully out of existence the minute BWV 546 started playing. Totally deathly music at it's absolute finest. Absolutely perfect to signify the moment an innocent soul is laid to rest permanently. R.I.P. Queen Elizabeth II although I know screw all about the british monarchy.

Thank you for posting this, Titus. The music was most important to your success and the video only secondary. You did a wonderful job with this lovely piece, keeping even-paced momentum throughout. It was also fun to hear about your experience leading up to this recording. Having dealt with many similar frustrations when it comes to recording, I completely understand and am glad you made delicious lemonade out of the lemons! And, what makes your channel so great is the authenticity that you bring. Keep up the great work. :)

Your recording wasn’t cursed; it was blessed with great success. Circumstances often get in the way of us frail humans accomplishing great things.

Every chance to hear this is great. And thank you for the footwork cam! I saw some heel and toe. How do you decide your footwork? What registration did you choose and why? (just a trumpet player who noodles on the organ occasionally)

An outstanding performance: many thanks. (Why is it, though, that none of the stops we can see appear to be drawn?)

May I also add that too many organists play Bach repertoire too fast and especially in keen acoustics the sound is blurred. In any case the actions of the organs which Bach played would not have allowed for too much of a rapid tempo to be taken. You playing of Bach adheres to the originally proposed tempo and I could hear every note you played despite the acoustics in the Cathedral

They should play this at the Queen's funeral.
