I was confused by a full uniformed performance in Emporia. It looks like this was your housing site in 1988 during Championship week (Emporia State University, in Kansas), and you put on a full dress rehearsal for a decent-sized crowd there. It's too dark for this to be Friday or Saturday, as you would be too late getting to the stadium. So was this Thursday or earlier in the week? I marched Cavaliers that year and we certainly didn't do a full dress like this during Championship week. Of course, we also weren't a contender for the title that season.

From the talking of the people you can overhear at around 2:27, it sounds like maybe a pit malfunction that they're worried about happening "better tomorrow night than Saturday." which makes me think this must be a Thursday night jawn. Best hornline ever.

anyone have any idea of what date this was recorded? Early season? only 8 snares?

Since it’s in Emporia, the performance was sometime during Championship weekend. They also had 8 snares throughout the entire season.

Audio sounds much cleaner than that crappy DCI recording. Especially the drums.

Bet the local show announcers jumped the gun in the faux ending every time.
