Very useful information. Thank you so much for sharing. I noticed my PMAX stopping all other campaigns as soon as I launched it. Noticed also that it was sending a lot of low cost clicks, however it was burning through my budget with very little conversions.

Agree that it's bidding on branded keyword...

Great Video. I've been running our SP Max for 3 weeks. Smart shopping has sales stopped within 7-8 days so did our search ads. So far we've notice max starting to take off so have turned of smart shopping as we've had no sales in the last 10 days. Wondering if we should do thee same for our search campaigns.

Great video! My company sells name-brand products, so would brand intent be a problem if we're competing to sell the same brands with other companies? Would Smart shopping still be ideal in our case?

Fantastic. Here's a scenario for you... If I'm Nike (the company) and i run performance max, will this campaign potentially win in the competitive landscape of other retailers/ advertises selling my product?

It will definitely help. The sheer amount of brand intent advertising with a budget the size of Nike's will have a huge impact on brand reach!

How many products would you recommend the maximum is for each campaign type: performance max campaign, Smart shopping before having standard shopping because there are so many products

This should be positive for regular estore right? Taking position to competition that sell the same. But the backside would be not hitting the ones searching for another brand but same type of product. Is that what you mean?

Exactly. If you bid on brand and protect brand anyway, it's s good thing. But if not, be aware this campaign will optimise towards brand returns!

My campaign just went live, so I don't have access to my insights yet. However, I did opt to target specific keywords when I set up my Performance Max campaign. Can you confirm if you set up keywords for yours? Will it still target brand keywords if you selected other target keywords during setup?

So performance max campaign is similar to FB's CBO ??

Can I just ask what do you mean that it is “bidding on brand” - Sorry for my lack of understanding of this.

I believe this means campaign is spending on brand terms more often. Hence the campaign isn't going out to new audiences that aren't aware or using the brand term

It's when you bid on keywords with the name of the business or brand in the keywords. Example, Nike hightop sneakers.

It means leveraging your companies brand name in search results so you show both in the paid and organic results. If competitors bid on your brand name, it's a way to protect your brand so people still find and click your result on the search results page

Yes! The report showed some other non brand intent, but not much, was reliant on brand terms

Bidding on branded keywords mean You are paying google to show your ad whenever someone searches about your brand on google. that's is not a wise thing to do.

Can you tell me how i can target only people who are in the united states? The problem is, when i target the united states, i get clicks from all over the world because the standard geo settings include people who are interested in the targeted location.
