I disagree with your comparison of Jan's insults to the David Wallace deposition scene. When I watch that David Wallace scene, to me, David is doing everything he can NOT to insult Michael. The whole sequence is David trying not to answer leading questions about how unqualified Michael might be, finally breaking and saying 'c'mon he's a nice guy, what do you want me to say?', refusing to take the bait and imply Michael couldn't do it. And in the end that is why Michael sided with David and Dunder Mifflen, because you expect to be screwed by your company, but you never expect to be screwed by your girlfriend.

I think Jan asks Pam to contact Micheal, instead of walking directly into his office, because she’s aware, or at least afraid, that the office knows something happened between her and Michael, or at the very least she’s embarrassed, and she’s manage perceptions, and expectations, with this tactic of using excessive formality, which I always found hilarious, because she’s so stiff that she’s actually giving away what she’s trying to hide. It’s classic Office, which is always on point when it’s exploring the differences between who we think we are and how other people perceive us, and how we inadvertently undermine ourselves and give ourselves away.

The joke about the depressed guy that got ignored and eventually killed himself and Michael just glossing over it was the funniest joke of this episode!

3:40, She need Pam, Because in corporate its a good practice, As the person (Michael), you are going to meet could be in a meeting or something (Conference call or etc), Hence better to communicate formally, I remember working on a small office where we can see our boss just like Dwight can see Michael, But even then we had to inform the assistant prior before entering boss's office, Or IDK, Maybe they did this just to foreshadow the "Jan not liking Pam".....

This episode is in my top ten episode list. But just rewatching it today, Dwight doing the whole “tomorrow is Saturday” thing seemed really forced. “I’m gonna tune you out, I don’t need to see you tomorrow, don’t call me over the weekend, and we’ll see how things are on Monday.” That just doesn’t sound like a thing people say. Especially not to their antagonist. And especially not Dwight the character to Jim the character. And Dwight would definitely find out what day of the week it was at some point between 9am and 5pm. Love this ep so much, but I couldn’t get this outa my head.

I don't know, maybe this whole youtube series is just an excuse for Mulverine to say, "I don't know, maybe this whole episode was just an excuse to..." 😂

I guess I should also state the positives. Every part of the A Plot is perfection. Oscar overthinking his review, but Michael completely disinterested in Oscar’s review. Stanley playing into Michael’s immaturity for a potential bonus. Angela, desperate to be judged, gets the blandest/quickest review ever. Dwight way over-representing the “survival of the fittest” mindset in a cookie-cutter very low-stakes 9-5 office job. The way Michael accidentally weaponizes his power as manager to force his professional employees to support his personal delusions. Pam: “I think I know what Jan means, but I don’t think you’re going to like it.” Michael: “Oh great, now I’m in a terrible mood. Let’s do your performance review.” Pam: “You and Jan work together. She wants to be professional but has to hide her feelings toward you.” 😂😂😂😂 I mean, it doesn’t appear like Michael knows he’s blackmailing people into giving him positive feedback on his private life. Every suggestion in the suggestion box is gold. How he verbally abuses Dwight right in front of Jan. But none of those can compare to how Michael embarrasses Jan in the most extreme ways possible during every interaction they have. Over and over, Michael brings up very private subjects in public settings. My favorite of these interactions: Dwight, Michael, Jan are in Michael’s office. Dwight tells them he has a copy of Michael’s key to the office. Jan: “That’s a serious offense, Dwight.” Michael: “Yes Dwight, that is a serious offense… as is toying with a man’s heart.” Jan: “Michael! For God sakes..” Michael is basically Satan himself in this episode 😂.

The Suttle nuances is wat makes this show. Like when the only time Stanley ever tries to pander to Michael is when money is on the line n says things like "I learned it ON the ghetto"...instead of "in the ghetto" lol, suttely showing us that he has no idea wtf he's talking about 😆
