Just more proof as if Buddy Rich was not enough that you do not need a huge 15 piece kit to perform an outstanding drum solo.

a little sloppy but very good! huge emphasis on feel
@MrLaruman8 жыл бұрын
penisbreath952 that was not sloppy, when he sounded "sloppy", he played behind the beat, because he wanted it to Sound sloppy. That is a huge difference, it requires enormous practice to make it Sound so good like he did.
@penisbreath9528 жыл бұрын
oh really? the behind the beat playing i know if is mostly either incorporated subtly in grooves, or a bit more prominent such as j dilla's beats, or how richard spaven and chris dave drum. could you send me some other examples of what you're talking about?
@prodigydrummer8 жыл бұрын
He is drumming in time throughout the whole segment.
@penisbreath9528 жыл бұрын
eeeh i don't feel that way. I think he is trying to do some displacements and metric modulation, but it seems like he loses track of the 1. he still stays "on beat", but he fumbles a bit.

@@penisbreath952 I noticed a bit of dragging as well during the parts when others are playing, but I didn't hear anything beyond the normal quirks of human playing during the section where it was just him soloing. The dragging is also pretty consistent and more gives the music a feel of dragging rather than disrupting the groove entirely, which makes me think he's trying to lay behind the other people on purpose.

Not really a solo if there's two of them.
@craigwilliams5015 ай бұрын
yeah cause nobody ever solos over an accompaniment provided by other musicians
