Nice to see someone ripping on their Scout like it should be. I've got a 2018 Bobber - V&H slash slip on's, S&S air box, PV3 tuner, then I worked all summer doing remote tuning with a tech from Fuel Moto. I have not had it on a dyno, but I can guarantee these add-on's greatly increased my HP. It is soooo much fun to be cruising 70-80 next to my HD buddies, then drop a couple gears and leave them in my dust. LOL

@Seraphim, That would be SO fucking sweet! Was thinking of turbo’ing mine, but decided against it just so I could somewhat keep the nice, linear NA powerband of the bike that it’s got. I’m planning on doing the big bore kit and those Andrew’s cams, at least if more info comes out about it in the future, there’s not a whole lot of info on them to be honest. And then if I decide that’s not enough, then turbo. I think that’ll make a nice last step if I do decide to take it a step further, but for now I’ll keep it NA. I definitely do want a turbo bike in my future someday though, whether the scout (probably not) or a gsxr more likely if I can get the funds or just something, anything really… someday.

But I absolutely love the idea of a turbo scout, so I’d love to see yours one day if you do end up getting one for it! I’ve only seen one example of a scout that was boosted on KZbin, but it looked absolutely nuts.

That comp-s is gnarly AF! Did you have to pop the tank to get the PV3 mounted on the bars? I have a PV3 and a power commander on my 21 sixty. I assume the power commander was put on with the comp-s at the shop. I’d like to dyno also. I think I need to log some data for dyno and get another tune made. There were zero available for my 60. I actually ordered the db silencer from two bros because that exhaust is just a bit too insnane lol. ETA disregard. I typed as you were riding now I see the tank is off.

So this would all be part of what they would on the Dyno in a shop? And do you think that if you change the exhaust (or slip-ons) do you also need to do the air filter and tuning? I'm thinking about changing the stock pipes soon but I can't do the whole package at the same time, but I don't wanna risk to damage/ruin the bike having it not running properly if I start changing things. As always, I love your videos man! Thanks and keep it up!
@dadwithabike4 жыл бұрын
So your first question, it depends on the Dyno shop. Most shops will require you to already have a tuner before they put you on the Dyno. This means it is installed and probably has it's first flash (which is EASY to do). Time on the Dyno is costly and some will charge time based or by the run. Typically you ONLY will need to tune if you change the intake AND add a full exhaust system. You'll get better performance out of the bike if you tune it; however, it's only needed (for longevity of your bike) when you swap both those items out. Typically you don't need to tune if the exhaust are slipons as slipons don't change performance values much (if at all). If you want to stage your purchasing (which is what I did). Do the filter first (SS and Trask are best options) and then do the full exhaust and tuner together. FuelMoto does performance packages where they will greatly discount when you buy together though.
@bradsonnicksen69074 жыл бұрын
@@dadwithabike I beg to differ - if you change your air filter without changing the tune, you could be running lean or rich...you have no idea. If anything before the O2 sensors changes, the tune needs to change with it. Mufflers can be swapped without changing the tune, since those are after the O2 sensors.
@dadwithabike4 жыл бұрын
@@bradsonnicksen6907 this depends on the manufacturer.
@zeroneutral2 жыл бұрын
@@bradsonnicksen6907 As far as I understand, the Indian engines are extremely susceptible to intake and exhaust changes. (Tune out of spec and poor performance due to being stock tuned.) For these engines, the tune is very recommended.

So when you buy the PV3 tuner it gets licensed and registered to your bike. Places like Dynojet and FuelMoto will give you your first tune as part of the buy - it's a fairly generic tune but works in almost all applications.
