Great video! I bought a used 2016 Scout back in May. It has the stock airbox and filter, and I believe the original owner drilled the baffles. My first upgrade is gonna be the Trask replacement induction and filter. I'll see if I can tell any difference, before thinking about exhaust or tune. New sub to your channel. If you buy the dynojet power vision 3 get it through fuel moto, they will send you tunes for what mods you have, without the hassle of having to go back and fourth and getting a limp mode. I had zero issues with either of the two tunes I have used, I got a trask intake and ran no mufflers and got the tune so I wouldn’t damage anything, then finally got an exhaust after all the back orders I went with two brothers racing 2-1, the bike pulls like crazy and redlines at 8800rpm

I’ve worked with RVS plenty of times to know if was a fluke, sent me a revised tune and it was no big deal. If you buy the tuner from him you get the tune free also. I’ve heard good things about Fuel Moto as well. Yeah she’s running great and never been happier.

IMO if it works don’t mess with it. When you start upgrading the engine from stock you start having more problems. Stage one is okay but anything beyond that is just unnecessary. To each his own brother thanks for the video!

Riding Humboldt County true that brother I was VERY apprehensive about buying my Vintage because somebody else had already done motor work to it. Intake, exhaust, bluetooth codes in the back of the book that logs god knows what onto it. Let me put you at ease though brother. It's night and day. I HAD a 1900cc stratoliner Yamaha that I was PRETTY SURE could school most Harleys/Indians. Nope. I put some nice 94 octane fuel in this Indian, (started noticing it on about the third tank) and this bike makes power from everywhere! You've heard the expression, "Smoother than 4th gear on an Indian"? I totally get it now man. I can be in town going 20 mph and to engage my cruise control I need 4th gear. It does this so easily. When I get to a faster speed limit I don't have to double back to lower gears it makes crazy easy to use torque even when I've put it at a mechanical disadvantage. The computers in these new bikes are smart bro. The longer you ride the bike the more the computer learns about your riding style. The bike doesn't mind tuner upgrades. Trust man bro I wouldn't BS you the bike is happy at every RPM and gear. Maintenance? Don't let Brian scare you. I know, he's like a big shoeless kid wearing pants that would get him kicked out of gym class but NONE of this is really Maintenance.. it's upgrade bro and the factory didn't do it because if it rolled out of the factory with loud pipes and lower gas mileage the EPA and "save the planet" types would be all over it. But, when we get it home... the sky is the LIMIT!! HOP that bad boy UP! Ha ha Now I gotta get off of KZbin and back to the editing room Humboldt you are like three videos ahead of me. Shout out coming soon man.

Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone: The Indian scout is speed limited to 120MPH, Doing a Dyno run on an Indian Scout in top gear will have you hit 120mph at around 6200RPM and not let you get all the way to the 8100/8200 Redline with the stock module. The Indian Scout can actually hit 120MPH all the way down in 4th Gear.

I know folks out there want the highest numbers. To achieve that you’re going to have to make sacrifices. Much louder sound from intake and exhaust. I’m sure Barbara doesn’t want any of that. With just a tune the bike will run better. Remember Indian has to play by the rules (EPA) and we don’t, unless you live in California.

@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 2 жыл бұрын
It’s 100% better. The thing to remember about getting your bike “tuned” is that you are not doing it to max out the performance causing extra stress on the motor. You’re doing it to make it run optimally by creating a proper air fuel ratio based on the products you have installed. It may already be running too lean which can cause damage and the tune corrects these problems while also improving throttle response. You have nothing to fear.

You should be pulling sub 4 second 0-60. 1st gear will reach that. You can hit 100 in 3rd or at least close. Power band starts at 4K rpm. You got 8k rpm to play with. Also try adding a little power before releasing the brakes. Better jump off the line.
@zeroneutral

First could get to 60 but you will be close to 8k RPM... Shift to second gear around 50 to begin the 4k band in 2nd gear. The power band is very noticeable.

@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 3 жыл бұрын
Good question and thanks for the compliment, I'm actually turning 58 in a couple weeks! As far as my riding gear goes, I make my choices based on many factors including weather, distance travelled, safety and comfort are among those. I happen to live in Florida and its about 100 degrees so I wear shorts, have all my life. I wear jeans or appropriate gear to stay warm when its colder. Sometimes you'll see me without a helmet, sometimes a 3/4 and usually a FF, again depends on several factors. I appreciate your concern and understands the benefits of all the protective gear you mentioned but i also make my own choices based on the factors above as well. And yes, i know a lot of people that have survived dangerous situations that could have improved if they'd chosen better. But if I wanted to insure my 100% safety, I wouldn't ride a motorcycle or leave my house every day. Thanks for watching and i appreciate your comments! :)

Indian rates horsepower at the crankshaft, a dyno rates it at the rear wheel, on the pavement
@deanwinchester119
@deanwinchester119 2 жыл бұрын
Stop looking at peak numbers. The numbers that matter the most are the numbers under the curve. You picked up a ton under the curve. Even if you did a dyno tune on top of the remote tuning you would probably only pick up another 2-3hp not worth it considering the cost of dyno tuning
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you are not wrong. Everybody gets caught up in what the maximum output is because that’s what all the manufacturers base their numbers on peak output. What’s more important is the power that you’re getting off the line and through the curve.

That is an inaccurate way of doing 0-60mph testing and 0-100mph testing. Get a proper device like a Dragy or VBox. They are GPS based and also can tell the slope. Most runs will be invalid if the slope is greater than the accepted range. The results will be much different if you are on a 3% slope up or down. Especially on the 0-100mph run.
@TwoIndians
@TwoIndians 3 жыл бұрын
I will not argue any of those points however both of the runs are from the same starting point and indeed, there is a downhill slope. Not chosen for reasons of exaggerating performance but simply because it gave me the safest way to reach that speed with my own lane of traffic and no encroachment. Thanks for your input, it is helpful for future consideration!
@AndoBMS

@@TwoIndians Let me clarify. I have the same tune you do, just not from Ryan. I haven't dynoed mine so I don't know power gains or anything. My comment is NOT about the tune. Dyno clearly shows power gains. I am simply stating from my personal experience as I am car tuner I ONLY use Dragy for any performance testing. I say it because I heard you say you will use a stop watch when editing to get the times. That is just simply not going to be accurate. Look into Dragy. I think it will be a nice addition to your channel.

@@AndoBMS yeah, 100%, I get it. This is strictly for demonstration purposes. Fwiw, I ran my iPhone stop watch for 15 seconds and did a screen record at the same time. Then I laid that video on top of the actual ride video, aligning the start of the clock with the moment the bike started moving forward, and then recording the displayed time the moment the bike’s needle hit each speed marker. Again, 100% unscientific but the best I can do without buying a bunch of expensive gear. Curious what your HP/TQ numbers are.
