Hi everyone! I would like to apologize for a statement I made about NCT Dream Chenle’s cornrows in my Boom MV reaction- mentioning a contrast between the cornrows and the elegance of the setting, hinting that the former can’t be elegant. I am totally wrong on that part. It was insensitive for me to say that as well as complimenting this kind of styling as it is cultural appropriation. And for that I sincerely apologize, especially to those who have been hurt by this comment. It was not my intent to offend. Only one person has made me aware of their discomfort from my words, but I find that it is important to address this issue as a minority myself. For a timeline: We Go Up was the last comeback with mark before graduated (and the last with 7 members) so it was supposed to be kinda nostalgic/goodbye to childhood type song Boom was released 10 months later and was Dream's first comeback without Mark, from that point it seemed as though the concept matured a bit which is why Boom and Ridin' are the way they are and just seem that much older. Ridin' is their most recent comeback! And the last comeback as OT6 before NCT Dream becomes a rotational unit with Mark!! We don't really know what that means and dream will become like NCT U but we're all ready to find out!

After Boom came put both Jaemin and Jeno, but Jeno especially, showed more skin in their performances. Not sure why, but they both did that, and jaemin got extra flirty! you have got to see some stuff with Jeno and Jaemin because they are a hilarious duo, so are Jaemin and jisung. Cause Jeno and Jaemin are totally the parents of the group, Jisung and Chenle said this themselves, and Jaemin calls Jisung his son, it is hilarious and you can see it by how they all interact with each other. Just thought you might like to check out some more Jeno stuff and him and Jaemin just make a great duo.

since you kinda talked about jeno’s style, i noticed his stance is always like he’s about to square up with someone. his shoulders always look extra broad for some reason and i’ve noticed it in the finishing pose of we go up and the bridge of boom when haechan is singing. it’s probably just because of his masculine build, but something about it just makes him stand out from the others at certain parts. edit: now that i think about it, this probably made no sense 💀

I remember in nct dream interview from Allure, Jisung said that there's no difficult choreography for him(from their debut song to Boom), and everyone chose Boom as the most difficult choreography as the dance doesn't have a lot of moves but was difficult to express it's mood and have so many parts that they have to be restrained and sensual.

Finally someone voice their opinion. Yeah. I'm here in Boom team. I mean ridin' is nice, I like it, but the style, the vibe is not so DREAM. Dream has this groovy vibe in their singles that never changed since their debut (that what makes them different from 127, exo, and other sm boygroups and that what makes me like DREAM's music). For me, Ridin' sounds so EXO, I can picture EXO performing ridin'. I might say ridin' is a beautiful mess, but not so dream like how we like dream should be. Dream did their best for ridin', they're really good, it's just the song that is not as ear-pleasing as Boom. For me Dream always has this "relaxing kinda beats" *i dont understand music so pls mind me hihi. If we checked their singles since chewing gum to boom, and compared to ridin', they have less BPM compared to ridin'. That makes ridin' sounds too noisy for Dream and makes it less enjoyable for us the listeners.

Jisung's voice is so so beautiful. I really realized when the dreamies did a cover of 'No.1' on immortal songs. He has some lines in that song that sound really good and stable, even tho he's dancing. His voice is deffo on my fave voices list

At the time, the members said Boom was the hardest choreo for them not because of the moves, but because it was a completely different and new vibe from their previous releases! Ridin' is kind of similar to 'GO' with a more "heavy" and "cool" choreo, but "BOOM" has this smooth and controlled energy about it, and they have to carry the performance almost solely on their charisma rather than relying on a flashy routine, so it was really nice to see them on this concept and i think it broadened the perception of the public about NCT DREAM and their growth as group.

If you died at Jeno's fancam, imagine us when we watch that clip. It was during their first concert and everyone (including them, they even cried during the ment on the last day) were all so anxious about what their future would be, then he suddenly killed us with that. That time we don't know either 00' line would graduate and that would be their first and last concert or whatever the plans of SM maybe. I love Boom. I watched the music video and the dance practices and listened to the song a lot since it came out. It's such a mature vibe but it still feels like Dream, if that makes any sense. It retains the same overarching themes as We Go Up but with a more mature expression.

I once read a comment about how Jeno don't deserve to be one of NCT main dancer because he look kind of stiff, rigid or hard when he dance. Though people entitled to their own opinion I think whoever commented that just don't want to participate in the system of logic at hand that Jeno has his own style. I mean SM produced so many stage monsters how come they be wrong about Jeno dancing skills? But Jeff you're spot on 💯👍 thanks

OMG Thank you so much!!! I've been literally waiting for you to react to "Boom". This was release almost a year after "We Go Up" and sadly, Mark isn't included in this anymore since at that time, graduation system still exists. This is also the time where all of us thought that this is their last comeback as 6 since Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, and Jaemin are about to graduate too. But I guess due to public demand, SM decided to make them a fixed unit. (Which is the best thing that they did so far). In the future, I think they may comeback as 7, according to the plans. Also, if you can notice in the MV, Haechan wasn't in the parts where the 5 of them were together. He was also promoting with NCT 127 at that time. Anyways love your reaction and thoughts always!

there were 7, this was when nct still had their graduation system and it was the first comeback that mark wasn’t apart of. you thought there were 7 because mark was there for we go up and GO (which i also believe you reacted to?) but we go up, boom, and ridin is the timeline. the graduation system is no more, so you will be seeing 7 again eventually.

Boom was the last comeback before Ridin'. So the DREAM title tracks go Chewing Gum > My First and Last > We Young > Go > We Go Up > Boom > Ridin' So Boom was the first comeback after Mark graduated from DREAM at the end of 2018, making it 6 people. But you might notice during the MV that there are only 5 people during some of the scenes. That's cause Haechan was promoting with NCT 127 for Superhuman at the time and couldn't make it to a few of the shoots. I think he was flying between Korea and America to do this Boom remains one of my favorite DREAM tracks. It seems very NCT DREAM even though it's a really different sound. Their concept was always less 'noisy' than NCT 127's and with their entire discography showing the process of growing up and puberty, this song seems like the last part showing how they matured. I love it. Also 119 and STRONGER off the We Boom album are two of my favorite NCT DREAM b-sides. Also, shaky raindrop just dropped another video in her anatomy of a dancer series. It's part 1 of 2 about Taeyong!!!

there used to be seven, nct dream used to work in a graduation system where if one member hits 18 they move out of the group and join in another nct project. recently, the system was thrown out and now the nct dream roster is permanent.
