Most people are surprised by this Jimin. I'm really not... Didn't people ever see behind his smile and angelic face? The guy has a fierce determination, 10 years of martial arts, he is not afraid of anything. He doubts, as he often says, but he goes for it anyway! He gets kilos of hate every day and he has kept his mouth shut for 10 years. Today he has the freedom to finally answer: you can talk, I don't care anymore. I free myself from negative thoughts and go on my way.

​@@faith6833 I'm sure you didn't mean it in a negative way, but your comment (especially the last line) seems to somewhat infantilise and downplay Jimin's abilities and self-confidence. They've worked together as a team for over a decade, so they're obviously each other's safe space and source of comfort; however, that doesn't mean Jimin has difficulty functioning on his own or paving his own way. Chapter 2 is a new era for everyone - it's all about discovering their own potential and interests as individuals and artists, and for the younger members especially, would obviously mark a new phase in their lives and careers. Nervousness and uncertainty come hand in hand with treading new ground and breaking out from their comfort zones, but I have no doubt each and every member will achieve whatever they set their minds to. Jimin's always been really open about his feelings and insecurities, but he's also been very open about his growth throughout the years and how they no longer define him. Hobi gave a spectacular performance at Lollapalooza, and obviously we should listen to what Jimin himself said, which was that it must have been lonely for Hobi given he was the first one to try something like that without the other members. He said he couldn't have done what Hobi did, but that doesn't mean he's afraid or unwilling to perform alone. Hobi did amazing, and the beauty of BTS is that all 7 members are so talented and unique in their own way but also work so well together as a team - if any of the other members wanted to do something similar, they will no doubt bring something different to the table and show off their individual charm and charisma just like Hobi did. Jimin's said multiple times over the years how performing in front of ARMY is the one thing that makes him feel happiest and also the part of his 'job' that doesn't feel like a job. And of course he is part of a group and loves performing and producing music together as BTS - all the members have said the same thing. I'm sorry if I took your comment the wrong way, but I wanted to add some context as this entire song is about Jimin setting himself free from negative thoughts, others' expectations of who he should be and how he should act, and the judgement and hate thrown at him from all angles. He's so humble and always gives credit to ARMY and everyone he works with (deservedly of course), but there is no doubt how capable he is as an individual, and he has shown time and time again, through hard work and perseverance, that he will always follow through with whatever he sets his mind to. Hobi said they've been given complete control and freedom to do whatever they want in the design, promotion and execution of their solo albums, meaning that Jimin himself wants to perform at all the music shows he's been scheduled to appear in and he's the one who decided to debut his live performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In fact, multiple ARMY who were lucky enough to see him at the prerecording of the interview portion yesterday said he was his usual adorable and charming self, and that there was no awkwardness at all and his aura even had a calming effect on the audience. Let's all trust and take pride in the members' ability to pave their own way and rejoin stronger than ever.

I’ll literally put the quote of what he said here since you don’t believe us. When the track list for the album was revealed, many noticed that this prerelease single was designated as "Pt.2" despite the fact that Jimin doesn't have any existing songs to his name titled "Set Me Free." He confirms that it's a nod to a track on bandmate SUGA's second mixtape, D-2. "There isn't a connection, and we weren't trying to divide part one or part two," he explains. "But since it turns out my song talks about freedom and moving forward, and SUGA's song talks about some of the stories that come before, I thought it would be good to come after that”

You wouldn't BELIEVE how much symbolism is in this video. Jimin is telling us some VERY HUGE things about himself, his life, and what he's been through/going through now. Thing is, 95% of everyone who watches this won't get the messages he's sending at all. TONS of metaphors. Very unique to the entertainment world, especially among musicians. They pay an extremely high price for fame. PLEASE, people, see and hear the message he's putting out!

❣Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. Now the spotlight will be just on him! Though we’ve seen Jimin’s amazingly spectacular, so mesmerizingly outstanding solo performances before. But now, as Jimin himself, mentioned, he’ll indeed be showing the depth of his raw inner self!  In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white."

@@irinaberescu1029 - I don’t recall Jimin saying that, though I guess he might have, but I know definitely Hobi said that, since he felt since he’s representing the group he wants to do well, I’m sure though if Jimin said or didn’t say similar, he definitely feels the same way! What Jimin did say though during I believe his last Weverse live, that he’s sure that after all the time apart exploring their own abilities creatively, as well as performing their own solo work, it will just mean that they will all come back that much stronger & better for it, bring and offer so much more to the group! But as I mentioned, which both Hobi and Jimin felt, but definitely most definitely RM as well, that by being in the confines of the group it’s more limiting. Not being able to express one’s unique artist self! Which we most definitely saw come out magnificently with Hobi! RM as well, jus so unique, talented, genius, now it’s Jimin’s turn as well! Which makes one admire all the members all the more because in spite of having each sacrifice part of their own abilities or artistry, certain members more then others, they’re still able to come together, and sound so amazingly outstanding as one unit, though one can see at times some glimpses of the talent, the abilities and artistry that we didn’t get to see, especially in the last few yrs, and Jimin was given limited amount and basically limited range mainly higher range ti sings. Which is why many army are so amazed when they here finally Jimin using more of his full registry including mid & especially lower registry. Which with the group he found a way to still show off a tiny bit whenever he added a raspy, growl. In much earlier songs in the first couple of yrs, Jimin was still singing in more of a full range so many army have always been aware of what his capabilities were.

I absolutely agree with you about going from reaction to reaction to see how everyone else is reacting to this video. It is absolutely epic and I can't wait to see him perform this song. I'm hoping he wins all the awards there are to win with this masterpiece. As much of a longshot as it is, in my heart of hearts, I'm dreaming of Jimin winning a Grammy for this. I read that Sienna is the choreographer behind this and if so, she needs to be winning awards as well because she has choreographed some epic videos for BTS over the years. The first time I saw Jimin in Black Swan it blew me away. (I was trained in various forms of dance for ten years in my younger life.) He was so free! I think this is more than dissing his haters. I think he wants to feel that freedom that you get when you dance (and sing) the style that frees your soul. (Update-Now that I have listened to the album and lyrics, behind the scenes, interviews, etc the message is so deep and painful. The entire album is so vulnerable yet so beautiful , sharing his pain. It makes me think of a quote from his song “Like Crazy” (#1 Hot100)- “Tell me will I find myself again when I go too far? Yeah I know, you know I know.” I think here he is truly finding himself. 🦋

It's such a relief that he made it through and was able to use his music and choreography to process it. I saw somewhere that his dad listened to the album all of the way through the first time. Then he was crying for his son. He had no idea that Jimin had been suffering like that. It reminds us that we need to reach out to people -- our friends, family, strangers on the internet, and also the hotlines. No one needs to suffer alone.

The poem, that has a beautiful sense related to the album concept, is written in a Book of Hours. Oh my GOD, that's exactly who I am: I LOVE watching reaction videos just to see that there are people out there who feel the same way about the things I like. Your channel is even better for that because not only we share the same level of energy regarding Jimin (hahaha), you also tend to notice dance moves more. I used to be a dancer and dance details are the first thing my eyes latch onto (it's no wonder Jimin is my ultimate bias). I wasn't very sure about SMFP2 the first time I watched it, but the choreo wasn't included in my hesitation. It popped out from the beginning, such an amazing choreo, and Jimin and his dancers executed it SO well. I also noticed and loved that he explored the lower edges of his vocal range. Now, though, the more I watch the MV, the more I find things to love beneath others I'd already enjoyed. It's so rewarding. Jimin truly never disappoints!

The performance directors involved where Bangster, Minbro and Yoon Seoungeun, same team than On The Street. Bangster is the most well know among the three, he was with Hobi in Neuron

This choreo is on another level!! My favorite is the swirl formation. It looks like the Golden ratio spiral. If you don't know, this ratio represents the idea of perfection or the most attractive version of something. It's seen in a lot of renowned artwork. Knowing how much stress Jimin has put on himself in the past to be perfect, it's so meaningful that the lyrics "fly away, butterfly, Finally free" follow after he breaks out of the spiral formation. 🦋💜

I saw an explanation video and it said that it's a cycle of a butterfly and Jimin does have lyrics "fly away butterfly" the ayh on the first part before the song begins is briefed as egg maybe and then the spiral formation is larva and the part where Jimin is covered by the dancers before lifting him up it's briefed as pupa and then when the dancers lift him up it's staged as emerging butterfly and the last one him dressed in white is a grown adult butterfly 🦋

Totally related to your squeeing ("kilig"). Same! Jimin is my ultimate bias, too. I love love love the song and MV. I've already lost count of how many times I've played both. So much depth and meaning. The lyrics. The choreography. The cinematography. The range of Jimin's singing, from low to high register, and all the emotions conveyed. The intentional and stylistic use of auto-tune. His ever-captivating dancing, combining sharp and fluid movements like no one else can. A performance video and an art piece. Set Me Free Pt 2 was unexpected... yet unsurprising, in the best of ways. It's from THE Park Jimin, after all.
