I don't think 'like crazy' is a genre jimin particulatly wants to keep doing. In interviews he said he wanted to surprise us & makes us think 'oh he did this???' so I think 'Face' consists of songs that are typically his style (like Alone, Letter), and songs that intentionally bring him out of his comfort zone to challenge himself, show a range of different things he can do AND surprise us, with 'set me free pt 2, like crazy, face off. and honestly I think he succeeded with his goal of surprising us with genres we wouldn't expect. and YES Michael Jackson inspiration of course for the hip moves

It may be simple choreography, but no one could dance these simple movements as well as Jimin. In its simplicity, it looks easy, but it's difficult to pull this off. It's actually hard to look this simple. His whole body melts into the mood. And his acting superb. When he starts walking toward that, women few can interpret that body expression and acting. His whole body takes on an intentional mood and moves toward her! He is the character the whole way through. Fluid. Cool. Smooth. Floating. Gliding. Airy. Feather like. Singing with his body. Difficult made to look simple. Beautiful lines. Natural nuances. Free....using your words. Beautiful imagery. A ray of sunshine. Excellent eloquent reaction.

This song sounds like a dark fairy tale. your voice sounds like a whisper making you go somewhere. it's like a dream, but again like you're using substances. you kinda start to feel a little bit of what jimin wants us to feel. that girl, once they meet in the middle, all the half-stop shots look like we see him through that girl's eyes. and at the end he looks as the camera pans around, it's like we're spinning too but looking at him as he says "I need a way we can dream". and he looks down again like he can't find a way and it hurts him to the core. it's just not a new thought for him to cry over, just to accept that he'll keep trying. he looks at the camera often but looks different when we see the girl is nearby. it seems that he is talking to us/her. But it's like he's trying to tell us something that's hard to explain, but he does. he'd rather be outside than feel the sad emotions sober. Jimin said something about the album expressing the feelings he felt during the pandemic in chronological order. in a sense it involves the army, bts or jimin himself all at once. it was always about us, emotions confirm how he must have felt all this time. the "forever you and me" is always in the background at different times, only softly if you listen carefully. some things I still can't fully explain but it's not just us but Jimin himself, always striving for perfection but all things considered seems out of reach. the "alone again... what's the point" is so painful because he can really feel it. as if he gives up for a moment, or goes back to being sad and sober, no longer in the club where he can forget in the company of his friends, fans, etc. there's so much I want to explain, but there are some things I can't connect or explain yet. regardless, this M/V was profound. between sad and the sudden sound change slowly relieves you of the sadness and distracts you, until you are alone again, then it starts. no wonder he doesn't want to go away or be saved. he wants to live in that moment when everything is temporarily fine. the bathroom scene reminds me of movies where the party is outside and the bathrooms are where you will cry and think and reflect and drown before you go out again and forget. you want to forget, but you occasionally remember, leading you to go back and forget AGAIN. the sadness being an incentive factor to go out and party, not sober up and just enjoy the lights, completely lost. BETWEEN A MIX OF FICTION AND STRONG REALITIES. ANOTHER WORK OF ART BY THIS THINKING BEING. APPLAUSE.👏👏👏❤

💯 80s with a twist of Jimin’s magic! You must watch his Jimmy Fallon, Tonight Show, performance! If the choreography was on the more epic, over the top movements it would look ridiculous with the song - this choreo is PERFECT for this song…it’s smooth and fluid, like Jimin and it depicts the story of the song! The live performance at the Fallon show is better…HE is not as animated (because he’s also singing and performing in front of the entire world basically) but the dancers are actually better / more emotionally involved in the song; also, the girl who plays his mirror image dances beautifully and looks like a doll.
@TheJasmelyn Жыл бұрын
I also noticed that his perfomance wasn’t so animated but i guess is because he was a little nervous or singing at the same time, but i also agreed that the dancers had more spirit or emotion in the Fallon presentation

The way I interpreted the album, based on the lyrics, imagery and what Jimin himself has said; this was an album that touches upon his depression throughout the pandemic as well and his identity. Except for the hidden track (which reads exactly like a love letter. The interview he did on AERA magazine actually points more to him writing it for Jungkook and BTS rather than only ARMY), I interpreted the album as him questioning who he is. Rather than alcohol (although it can be a big part of it), it feels like he used to get drunk on the fame and his work, and not that he was without it he was questioning who he was without it. SMF, for example, touches upon how the expectations from outside sources made him suppress a lot of who he was but no longer. n his interviews over the last few days Jimin said that this whole album is inspired by how he was so depressed over the pandemic. He found not performing in front of fans so hard and there are many times over the pandemic there were behind the scenes videos were he said how hard he found performing without fans. Regarding Like Crazy, Jimin said that it’s about escaping reality to deal with one's wounds. The "she" he is referring to isn't necessarily about a love interest but possibly represents Jimin's Anima. We see a girl whose movements mirror Jimin in the mv, they never meet before Jimin cuts to looking at himself in the mirror. What does the Anima means? - An individual's true inner self that in the analytical psychology of Carl Jung reflects archetypal ideals of conduct. Your anima is the unconscious part of your mind that works automatically, without introspection or awareness. Some psychologists believe one’s anima affects your dreams, fears, and habits (loop this back to what the song is all about). The person with muddy hands who grabbed Jimin is Jimin himself. What do the mud represent? I'm not 100% sure, but my own personal reading is its Jimin's depression related to COVID (and the lack of live performances which he defined himself to) and long standing anxiety. These are the wounds mentioned but not elaborated by our baby. In the MV, Party Jimin is interrupted by the mud and he has to go home to Sad Jimin. Which of the 2 Jimin’s is in the real world? I haven't figured that out yet :( Maybe both of them are not, hence the dreamlike feel of the mv. Jimin himself asked not to be saved and not to be waken up from the dream. He doesn't want to go back to reality... This mv reminds me of Suga's SHADOW but we are dealing with a different part of the SELF here, one not explored by BTS yet. RM did PERSONA while Hobi did EGO. There's so much loneliness and desperation, under the cheery synthpop, I feel. He has said the dream he wants to stay in is BTS...so I took this song as a depiction of his anxiety during the pandemic, when they couldn't perform live, and he was feeling lost...he didn't want to be ripped from the dream, wanted to stay lost in the lights (of performing), didn't want the pandemic to break him. And I think the song also speaks of his other struggles, the tussles between his personas, etc. I felt it was so much deeper than I thought at the first listen. He has expressed those emotions so eloquently in his writing and conveyed them so effectively in his voice. Like Crazy is very, very queer coded to me, which is not something new for Jimin, by the way. The way the woman (both in the MV and the choreo) mirrors him, it feels like a fight between femininity and masculinity, with him embracing both in the end. That, along with the inclusion of Mapplethorpe (which he has referenced before in his photopholio) and a hinted at WLW couple, made me relate a lot. As a queer person, the shot of Jimin standing above a video of people kissing striked me as an image with such loneliness, feeling as if love is unattainable for you, not seeing yourself in any of the images of love out there, being alienated of everything people make love to be...Also, the Anima is an inner feminine part of the male personality. Hence the boy and girl kissing is probably Jimin's masculine and feminine side coming together.

Quoting you saying "one of the easiest choreographies" I would add "for us or anyone trying to emulate him", but for real, nobody could project any of the emotions Jimin is capable to transmit. You are attracted to him when watching him dance, his movements, his posture, the ethereal fluid and grace of his lines. For me, is with this type of choreo when you just feel and fly with him, wishing you could dance like this. Such a beautiful fairy/angel/Jimin

This is NEW WAVE from the 1980s and all Gen X ARMYs are here for it 😁 DANCE: I know you already know this but I am going to say it anyway LOL. If you look at the female dancer who is Jimin's mirror, you can clearly see that this choreo is not at all easy. Compare this Korean dance practice with the one at Jimmy Fallon's and watch how the mirror dancer moves to the left of Jimin. The one in this practice video is STIFF, while the one at Jimmy Fallon's is smooth, crisp, strong, soft, subtle, but sharp. THOSE ARE CONTROL, and they can only be achieved by YEARS OF PRACTICE. Hip hop and street dancers tend to be more well versed in bigger harder angle movements, and not so much in the detailed curves. Not better or worse. Just very different.

It really resonated when you said it's like he's singing with his whole body. I'm especially happy that you reacted to his dance practice rather than The Tonight Show performance - I felt he was more relaxed and expressive here, and his lines and the little details were perfection ❤

You probably know...this choreography is brilliant. I love this so much more than the MV. All the visuals distracted me from the song. The next morning I couldn't remember the song. However, this smooooth choreography performed even more smooooothly by Jimin explained the storyline. And the song stuck in my head, and I'm still humming it. On the Jimmy Fallon show they did a highly produced version of this. But again, the set, costumes, lights, camera angles, and edits distracted me. I love seeing all of Jimin's face, facial expressions, body expressions, movement, and emotions. Did you catch the short dance moment that was from "Butter"? Jimin could be the next Michael Jackson of dance if he wanted. I wrote this before I heard your comment. Or #1 entertainer of the world. But as he stated in his interview with Suga, he just wants them to all get back together and perform together. He doesn't have a solo career ambition. This choreography is just as good and dynamic as Set Me Free on its on scale. It fits perfectly with the music. And Jimin literally floats through the dance. He is so good! I love love love it!

I'm a child of the 1980s and if you told someone in about 1985 that this would be the music of the future they'd have been completely unsurprised. It's a very now take on 80s, like... power pop? But I have zero knowledge so, you put the rush of emotions Jimin creates in my head into words!! I'd love to hear you talk about Jimin's shoulders (or other body part) work in a video focusing on 1 of his dance lines through different choreos. I also like when you explain physical reactions dancers experience while or after dancing a specific part (in Black Swan I think, you said your legs can't even support you) because as a non dancer, I had no idea. I agree with it being simple… my friend and i were able to memorize this a lot quicker than Set Me Free. Although it may be simple, it is hard to execute it perfectly. It is the details! The minor jolts and nuances. We could never match Jimin’s fluidity and intricacy. Which made me realize this could go with all of his solo choreos and it shows how great of a dancer he is.

The whole album is about a lot of his thoughts and struggles due to covid. He watched the film Crazy quite a bit and that is were he got the idea for the song the MV along with his feelings and thoughts of that time in Covid. There's a whole Disney plus about him making the album where he bascially lived for 2week in PDogg's house. Where he's trying to recapture those thoughts and feelings he was going through in covid, him writing lyric's, humming little bit of melody, coming on with bit on the keyboard, lots of him walking around in circles. Working with PDogg on the production his hands, thoughts idea's lyric's and music is all over the album
