I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. It was Cocona's decision to cut her hair. According to her parents, she's wanted to do this for a while but XGALX thought it wouldn't fit the previous concepts. They have their go-ahead for this one and Coco was like BET!! She apparently used to this when she was younger too.

And her parents like said this just after the Japan show where there was no hiding the shaved head anymore. Someone had posted it like as 'Woke Up' Debuted on the 21st so they KNEW people would question it but yeah. It also makes me interested in what Simon has coming up that he was like... "Shaved head Cocona would work great for 'Woke Up' and some maybe a rock song or get some heavy vibes out before the end of the year."

I totally agree with you! XG trying out different genres works perfectly because the members also wanted to try them like Jurin wanted to try something like New Dance whereas Juria wanted to try rapping. The same can be said for styling because Cocona wanted to try a buzz cut while Hinata wanted to try bolder hairstyles. Their songs are really just manifestations of the things they want to try as artists and I love them sm for it! 💖

I agree with you about how XG doesn't adhere to the usual KPOP standards about looks and fashion. Consider Harvey and her weight gain. Not a Barbie Doll. From her very slender form in her Move dance solo at the time of debut to her adult female, womanly figure today, and no feedback from Simon to the XG girls about 'selfcare' that was talked about in the Le Serafim documentary which got those members upset. Allowing Cocona to set her own standard for her appearance, throwing shade at the CA jibber jabbers, can't talk about her hair choices anymore. Chisa doing her muscle mother fitness thing, all of the girls so active with skiing and snowboarding. Healthy eating and activities, no drama with fans or staff or the public, no mental or stage fright issues. Being a family unit for this long, despite all of the different personalities. It wonderful to watch them continue to grow as a group and individuals.

That's why she's happy that she's been able to express it to this MV. #XG is just the amalgamation of everything we wanted for a group and more. I agree with your full assessment about how they do every genre and every concept. It's not forced, its truly them. It feels natural for them, I don't sense any lackness or fakery. And yes, XG is very unconventional. They are not your cookie cutter idols/group. That's what makes them special.

Yes 🙌🏽 Cocona had said in Tape 3B that #XG was going to break the idol stereotypes. These Xtraordinary Girls did just THAT in this #Woke Up MV. They have performed all their songs and remixed their originals. XG’s Shooting Star 🌠 was performed as a Rock Version. The “Left Right Remix” is Stunning because of their Choreography. I don't know about inspiration but Japanese art and artistic content is so RICH, people only know about the traditional stuff like kimino and geisha and whatnot but the whole futuristic and abstract stuff is there too. If you just take fashion, it's insane how they are in their own world let alone creation like that. We just don't see it but from the little I know of it it's sooo obvious. I looove XG for that

XG comes with different surprises every time they put out new releases and IT HITS EVERYTIME. next thing you know they gonna do death metal just watch lmao. and no, cocona wanted to do a buzz cut for a long time and she's been asking. if anything it was the company being forced to implement it. it was almost like the company went "ahhh okayyy fine u can do a buzz cut but wait til we have a song for it first okay?!" its kinda funny i dunno, everything XG and XGALX do are so.... human.... not sure if i am expressing myself right... but it feels like they really are a team working with and supporting each other instead of the company putting up a puppet show with strings attached to the idols (pun intended).

The choreo feels like a relay dance. Can’t wait to see the next genre they tackle. I just hope they don’t delve into straight rock yet…I want their rock debut to be as intense as their dance and cyphers, but they are not ready yet…plenty of electronic genres left to dominate beforehand.

not sure if there’s official lore out for their timeline but my vibes from their story oriented singles and their lyrics is that they’re aliens (or an alien wolf pack if you’re considering woke up as a part of like the actual imagery of their forms) from another planet (i’m assuming the planet we see them causing anarchy on then escaping in “puppet show”) and “woke” up is them landing in various places, if you notice in the video, jurin burst through the door, chisa is going light speed in a lamborghini, harvey dives into the atmosphere in an outfit similar to those of the puppet show planet people before landing or i guess floating in her ship once she transforms into the black outfit, juria has also burst through the hole that jurin came through insinuating they came together, maya literally crash lands in that church/business meeting and then cocona seems to be captured and maybe becomes queen/leader of the people that she’s in the container with? i’m literally just putting that together that could all be fake, but i assume the next single will have to do with them taking over?

Coz badvillain is obviously copying XG in so many ways 😂 from the dance steps, the number of members which is 7, one of them trying to be look like harvey and trying to sound like harvey, from the concept of being badass and not barbie dolls, lol im sorry but im just stating a fact here.
